Marston's Video Clinic
« on: October 14, 2010, 03:28:15 PM »
This thread is going to be devoted to showing technique from various matches throughout his life.

In this first video young Marston takes down a young Pat Smith 4x NCAA Champ.

As you can see, even early in his young career Marston (red singlet) was the master of prematch intimidation. Clearly young Smith here so feared Anthony's world famous headlock that he immediately went on the defensive.

Sometimes Anthony likes to bait an especially aggressive opponent as he did here against former National Champion Randy Lewis

In an interesting but little known aside, Randy's wealthy father was so dismayed at this rare pinning of his son that he bought up the entire run of the next day paper in Rapid City so word would not get out about his son getting pinned.

The Marston Headlock.

Not even Karelin's reverse body throw is so feared as the unstoppable Marston Headlock. In this lesson, with Iowa State down by five team points, Marston dons the Cyclone singlet and moves all the way up to heavyweight to take on Iowa Legend and Olympic Champion, Lou Banach. Not wanting rush things he takes his time stalking the Hawkeye strongman and then executes the move to perfection stunning the Hawkeye faithful and bringing victory and joy to his Cyclone teammates.

Over the years, I have had 4 or 5 run ins with Louie Banach.  They all pretty much went the same way, except in this match, this one lasted the longest.

Not content to dominate just collegiate and freestyle wrestling Marston also competes in Greco Roman. In this match against the Turkish Olympic Champion Anthony show his mastery of body throws.

This is the latest in the Marston Video Series. Here Anthony (blue) not only shows his defense to a suplay, he also shows he has a softer side. (Not that heres anything wrong with that)

Having run out of humans willing to challenge him, Marston takes his wrestling to a whole new level.
