Got out stalled in a wrestle off??
-
perhaps It was for the best...I will admit I was a bit concerned for him going up to HWT.
-
I hope he is haunting Goldman right now

Taylor Walsh and Isaac Jordan just got underway right now if you have BTN Plus. Wisconsin up 17-0 on Indiana right now
-
The Hoosiers battled hard to a 0-45 loss. Jordan over Walsh 3-1.
-
Herb could of been a Terp's fan.
-
Someone posted on TheMat that Indiana didn't have ONE SINGLE takedown or reversal the entire match. Is that true? I watched from 165 on but wasn't fully paying attention outside of 165. I don't remember IU getting a score.
-
What will it take for Indiana to replace Goldman? A high school team beating Indiana?
-
A graduation perhaps?
-
I hope carolinablue stops by and shares their thoughts...last season the problem with iu wrestling was that the athletes werent buying into the program...it would be interesting to see if those thoughts are the same now after being exposed to the program a bit.

I attended the dual. Yes, that is true . . . IU didn't have even a single offensive point.
-
Hoosiers right the ship with big wins over SIUE and D3 Manchester. :o
-
For the love of god.......... :-\
-
Wow no offensive points
-
I could've sworn there was a time in the past couple years they almost lost to an NAIA team but I can't find the dual

If you recall towards the end of the season I voiced my concern about IU not having a light weight or neutral coach who wrestled worth all of the wrestlers along with several light weights not buying into the program . All of these items have a direct affect on the kids and affect how they train. if you notice also that IU line up was different this weekend at the duals then at Wisconsin, as they all settle in they will be fine. Several holes to fill with the transfers but they will be fine
-

Yup they will be just fine. Nothing to see here guys.....
-
Fine = 0 B1G dual wins and bottom 3 at the tournament. Again.

Well, they do get Michigan State February 13th in Bloomington!
-
Cleveland State 24, Indiana 13...
-
'VICTORY!!' -- Tarvold from Orkney.

That's similar to losing to a non-D1 program

Carolinablue, I know you have a wrestler on the IU team, and I think the loyalty you have would be the same I would with an athlete on the team. But facts are facts, proof is in the pudding. Pipe dream or not , the hoosiers are a thing of the past. And believe it or not, this IS Duane Goldmans LAST year at Indiana. So all the wrestlers need to be making plans for next year.
-
The plan should be to be more successful because Goldman is one of the worst coaches of Any sport on Any team in the U.S. anand anyone they hire will be an improvement
-

If Goldman is out I just wish Herb would be here to finally see it
-
Someone needs to take the article when Goldman finally quits or retires to Herb's grave, so he can finally RIP.

Or someone hires him away from Indiana? ;D
-
Southbaend, you are correct loyalty is the blood-line. IU needs to bring in a true light-weight coach who works with all wrestlers on their feet. After the Wisconsin dual it was evident that is where we need help. With our light weight coach spending his time with the middle weight and Goldman not able to wrestle neutral we are exposed.
IU lost several recruits over the last couple of years, I heard last year it was them not the coaches but the wrestlers.
I just wish they would set a line-up so the kids know where they stand
-
Ye gods... I don't blame a guy for being biased where family is concerned. so carolina gets a pass. But 0 offensive point shutout? Against WISCONSIN?? Who themselves are in the bottom half of the b10
-
IU takes a duo to day 2 of the midlands.
-
Hopefully Herb can help with the weight certification issues this year at IU. How do we have no 125 in line up with one quitting this year and kids having to be up two weights. I hope IU administration gets the details as to what happen with certification. Whoever made the mistake needs to be held accountable. Was it the coaches or new trainer
It s time IU addresses these issues and makes changes. We need to look internally and ask if these coaches made wrestlers better
We bring in E Strangler as he likes to be called and touts himself at tourneys, what has he done to grow our light weights. It's time
Goldman moves on and we hold the rest of staff accountable. If they want to grow their image it can not be at the kids expense.
-
God I love watching Taylor Walsh wrestler, never stops going for it. I'm a NW fan and belt bad for Harger but you couldn't help but smile there.
-
Herb might be rising from the grave soon.
-
What are you hearing ss?
-
I heard Angel is coming on as an assistant, possibly head assistant. Are you hearing more?
-
I hope he is gone he has been nothing but a BLIGHT on that program
-
Who Simmons or Goldman or both?
-
Who Simmons or Goldman or both?
Yes

Fred you almost lost your job this year, over the basketball program. The alums said , somebodys going, Tom Crean or you. Fred, This job is over your head. Its to bad the alumni for wrestling is so weak at Indiana. But come on, what a joke. Only attraction, that this job posting will get, will be from desperate men looking to break into coaching. DEAD end job! don't do it!
-
By the way, Herb hasn't stopped rolling.
-
Escobedo replaces Simmons, will there be any more changes?
-
I miss Herb. I never met him but I talked to him on the phone on several occasions.
-
his knowledge of the program, past and present was incredible. his knowledge about just wrestling was amazing too. he was a great resource and I thought of him as a friend.

Since Angel has been coaching who has he helped develop?
-

Is this really a change? Mike Mena, Joe D., Simmons, the list goes on with no team improvement, year after year. BIG basement dwellers. No good established assistant coach would even give Indiana a sniff. Indiana just gets pushed lower and lower on the NCAA wrestling pecking order. Good luck Escobedo. Sorry you didn't get a real program to coach .Something will open up for you.
