College is better.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Washington Huskies
BYU Cougars
It just doesn't get any better. They play for the sheer excitement of it knowing that chances of NFL playing are below slim to none. NFL get too much money to care much.

College football is not only better, it's better by a country mile.
Why? Commercialization in the NFL is out of control. Games are scheduled in 3 hour (+) blocks because of all the commercials. Everytime there is a change of possession...commercials. Score? Commercials after. Comeback to the game...kickoff...then more commercials. I hate it. Plus no loyalty to the fans on the part of the coaches/owners in the NFL.
Also in the NFL almost all the teams run the exact type gameplan..."Pro" style offense (mostly passing), either 4-3 (mostly) or 3-4 defenses. About like eating plain vanilla when you consider the vast number of different "styles" in college ball. Triple Option, pro style, air raid, spread....so much more variety.

Lighten up... its just a joke.

As was my comment.

Although I find it interesting that no one has voted for the pros (as of yet).
One would think that the highest skill level of the sport would garner the most fans of the sport and have the most followers.
Interesting....

Funny comments from an Australian sports journalist writing about his first NFL game:

Most of his comments are about the breaks during the game.

I love all football. I'm a huge fan. I watch as much football as I possibly can. I prefer the pros. Although I admit my opinion is shifting more toward college in the last couple years. The NFL has the biggest fastest freak athletes in the world. Guys that if you saw them run drills or lift weights or hit in person, would amaze you, sit on every practice squad in the league. The league is loaded with 6'5 270 guys running 4.7 40's. Sub 5.00 40 is fast. Really fast. There's just no comparison in terms of speed, skill and power. They're just better. Smarter. Craftier. Faster. Stronger. But college is awesome too in its own way. Super exciting if you get the right teams playing.

Pagentry: College wins
Expertise: Pros win
Tradition: College wins

Passion: Debateable. Call it a push
Attendance: College wins

Tailgating: Advantage college
Access: College wins
Loyalty: College wins. There is non in the NFL. Players move. Teams move
Cheating: Pros win. Inflategate vs SMU
Greed: Advantage college but debatable

The NFL is unwatchable particularly in person. 20 seconds of action followed by : Penalities (for anything short of breathing), injury timeouts, challenge reviews, TV timeouts, regular timeouts, 2 minute warnings. It's pretty much the worst entertainment for the dollar. Most fans attend games for the tailgates, which start many hours before kickoff. By halftime everyone is exhausted from drinking and having to sit through so many stoppages.
Oh and yeah I know the NFL is the most popular U.S. league.

I am boycotting the NFL this year out of protest for Jed York running the 49ers into the ground in the span of one offseason

That was pretty funny! I love football...but there isn't a helluva lot of action in a 60 minute game.

The closer in ability the competitors are, the more likely the competition will be boring. The first takedown in the 1st Gotch vs. Hackenschmidt match was at the 2 hour mark. This accounts for Pro-Wrestlings move to works, everyone knows each others moves and has counters to them, things get boring. Same thing in Pro-Football.

Actually right now High School football is the most exciting since my alma mater is in the state semis. No, I don't still wear my letter jacket! In fact, I only tried football as a ninth grader and wasn't very good.
-
I thought my lettermans jacket was lost ... little did I know my mother had saved it and given it to my wife when we got married five years ago. granted it really hasn't been all that long since I first got the jacket (1996), but it's neat that I now have it. what's really funny is the picture of me first wearing it. they didn't have a size small enough to fit me and since my mother still was holding out hope I'd grow it's a large. at the time (Christmas) I received it, I weighed less than 100 lbs and was about 5 foot even.

Just the fact that there is an Iron Bowl says College is better than Pro.

My brother turns 40 this year and our Mom found his letter jacket and is sending it back to him.

Yup. Or Bedlam. No rivalries in the pros touch the NCAA.

Bedlam...the most lopsided instate "rivalry" in the FBS.
-
There used to be a pretty good rivalry between Nebraska and University of Colorado back in the 90's early 2000's. Nebraska under Osbourne would try to downplay it, but I am sure it got under his skin big time the few times CU won.
-
It'll be the 100th meeting of my HS FB rivalry next turkey day. We already have sponsor commitments to fund doubling bleacher seating to 15,000. Both HSs boards have agreed to open up the gyms and cafeterias for hosting team reunions. A couple other sponsors have agreed to fund some "scholarship" cash to help pay some travel expenses for those in need.

In Nebraska's defense...those CU fans were pretty scummy for the most part. Not the long time CU fans, but the bandwagon creeps that came out of the woodwork when CU got pretty good (early 90s).
Never met at Buffalo fan that wasn't a prick.
-
I liked the 1989-1995 or so teams but then gradually lost interest. They certainly do not belong in the PAC 12

They probably belong in Mountain West or the WAC. CU sucks at pretty much everything in athletics. I can't think of anything they do well. Plus academically they are nothing special in the Pac 12. Seriously...what do they offer other than a small Colorado TV market? Nothing.
-
They have a good cross country team.

I stand corrected. It's not much though, lol.

Also have seriously hot women.

CU took a brand hit under Gary Barnett and has never recovered.
-
The Barnett era was a dark time for CU.

Perhaps but it was nice to hear Gary tell the truth about what a crappy kicker Katie was. They will be back. Mac's an excellent coach.
-
Everyone knows that being a crappy kicker is justification for sexual harassment. (Sarcasm alert). Oh and HS football is best since my former HS is in the state finals.

Pomona? Of course it isn't but let's face it; she never should have been there in the first place.

Yeah, we can tell by his 10-27 career record.
-
Pomona vs Valor Christian. Pomona won at the beginning of the season 28-14. Pomona lost to Cherry Creek, Mullen and Columbine. In the semis Pomona won 21-20 against previously undefeated Columbine. (Yes, that Columbine)

Enjoy! Should be a good game.
-
Pomona had the lead the whole game but a late fumble with only 3 min cost them the game 29-26

Ugh! Tough loss to swallow that way.
