Title: How will Trump's Presidency End?
Post by: FalconWrestlingKY on June 10, 2017, 09:06:24 PM
Put on your predicting caps, break out those tarot decks and crystal balls. Predict what the end of Trump's presidency will be.

He lasts one term and decides to not try for another term.

Impeachment is a fantasy.  Or rather, if 2018 goes the D's way in the House, he may be impeached because they are without reason or standards.   But it takes 2/3's of the Senate to kick him out of office.  Which will never happen based on what we know today.  He lasts 4 years, decides it's not as fun as he thought it might be and step aside.

Will it really matter which if any of these you predict?  Perhaps not  (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/1728165/world-predicted-to-end-in-2017-thanks-to-a-total-solar-eclipse-hitting-america-and-the-uk/).

I think that would fall under, "He dies in office".

All your base... well, never mind.

Technically, I do think if the country falls apart, and the office ceases to exist before the world does, that would constitute a case not covered.  Though that probably won't happen, because it's pretty much the opposite of "great again".

Ray says (hypothetically) Trump dies in office and mspart says Trump lasts one term. After the world ends in August, will Ray or mspart be recognized as the better prognosticator?

I will be north of Boise or so to watch the solar eclipse.  I don't want the world to end while I'm in that area.  I'd rather be in Hawaii.  But the eclipse is not happening there so off to Boise we go.

I watched the last one that came around here when I was in High School.   My Dad took me, my younger brother, and a friend of mine east of the Cascades so we could get out of the cloud cover of Seattle.  It was awesome!!!   I'm not aware of the world ending at that time.  My bet will be he finishes out his 4 year term.

The idea that a solar eclipse is going to kill us all while Trump is still in office is just plain ridiculous.

Google is going to kill us all, possibly while Trump is still in office.

Repent!  For the singularity is nigh.

Nor did I predict the realization that our world is a simulation and thus the office of POTUS technically never existed in the first place retroactively making his presidency null

mspart, I would buy you a drink if I were going to Boise, but I'll be in Casper. Maybe next time.

I appreciate that.  I'll be visiting my brother in Boise but that is out of the shadow of the eclipse.  We are going to go to a super triple dog dare ya secret place to watch it.  It'll be a little travel but this is not to be missed.

Keeping it secret is probably a good idea. Population of Casper is expected to triple on eclipse day.

As he is part elf, he lives and rules for a long time. Upon his death he abides in the Halls of Mandos until he returns to rule again.

Falcon, you forgot to vote.  No one picked "impeached".

I voted he resigns, no way Trump would let himself get humiliated by an impeachment trial. He would resign and then try to energize his base saying the Presidency was stolen from him

Not gonna happen falcon, but wishful thinking on your part. The Russian scandal is a big zero and there is nothing else he has done that is impeachable. Stop listening to Maxine Waters.  :)

Looks like Trump's presidency lasted longer than Falcon's forum activity.  Oh the pain he must be going through.

IMPEACHED is the answer!

IMPEACHED is the answer!

It is an answer.  He has been impeached, but it likely will not end his presidency.  There may be more than one correct answer to the poll question.

Just revisiting (now that NCAA banned everything).  I hope Falcon isn't a day trader.

4 years got the most votes, but 4 years and 8 years together got the most votes.  Most felt he would leave when the time came rather than leave early.   I think those voting impeachment or retirement were just wishful thinkers.

Given the way the question was posed, Impeachment is also a correct answer.

Yeah, but impeachment did not end his presidency.  I think that was the point.  But yes, he did get impeached.  I think he wears it as a badge of honor because it was so ridiculous.

I just took another look at this poll. As RYou pointed out, the wording of the question allowed more than one correct answer. To avoid that, the question could have been, What will cause Trump's presidency to end? It's true he got impeached (twice), but getting impeached didn't cause his presidency to end. However, would that question ensure the correct answer could always be determined? Yes, but only if the exact moment during the new president's inauguration could be known at which Trump's presidency ended. If Trump died ten minutes before that moment, the vice-president would take over for ten minutes and "He dies in office" would be correct. If Trump died at that exact moment, I would rule that serving four years rather than dying was the cause of his presidency ending, but others might argue that both were correct.
