Title: 2024 Olympic Games
Post by: Bob H. on June 26, 2019, 11:15:21 AM
We only have six weight classes instead of the ten we should have, and the IOC is considering breakdancing for the 2024 Games.  WTF?!?

If you recall, wrestling was out for 2020, but was voted back in for 2 games 2020 and  2024.  There's still a fight ahead for 2028 and beyond. 2028 will be in Los Angeles so wrestling should be safe if only as a host proposed sport.  2032 is likely the bubble year.

New sports for 2020 include: rugby 7's, karate, sport climbing, surfing, and skateboarding with golf, baseball and softball, voted in once again.

For 2024, continuation of skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing will be subject to voting after the 2020 games. Breaking or Breakdancing is subject to executive committee review again in November 2019 where it will likely be given the thumbs up or down.

Also, wrestling is one of the few "team" sports where there is no competition for team medals based on individual results.
