The first thing I thought of when I saw the subject line was Leslie Nielson in "The Naked Gun".

it sounds like a lot of "stage moms" (and dads) are getting into sports and trying to relive their lives through their kids.  It also seems like many of them are spending more money on youth sports than they could save with a full ride scholarship.

Sounds like fun.

There is another eclipse coming to the U.S. on April 8th, 2024.

I enjoyed the coverage by NBC, but they need to get rid of that Irish dolt.

He's actually a Scottish dolt.  I thought it sounded like a Scottish accent, then verified with an internet search.

But he got the win he wanted - a giant payday.

Bet on the boxer in a boxing match and the MMA fighter in the cage.

It looks like NBCSN will be broadcasting day 6 matches on Sunday, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

I was channel flipping last night and saw several of the medal matches on the NBC Sports Network.  I tuned in in time to see Cox and Gwiz, along with the other medal matches in their weights.  Check local listings, but my guess is that they will show the rest of the medal matches.

There goes his big money matchup with Brock Lesnar, unless Jones gets hired by the WWE.

Seems mighty high to me.  Maybe the numbers are different on JV vs varsity.

You're not supposed to hit the 19th hole until after you play the first 18.

I remember when a pro golfer asked the PGA for permission to use a golf cart because he had a physical disability that made it excruciating to walk the course.  The PGA denied his request, because walking the course is what makes golfers athletes.  I figure that caddies must be much better athletes than golfers, since they walk the course AND carry the bags.

And the local critics recommended seeing it in IMAX.

I'm enough of a crusty old fart that I prefer watching movies at home.  I have a nice TV and surround system, can pause the movie anytime I need a break, can adjust the volume to my preferences, and I don't have to worry about screaming kids or someone talking through the whole movie (except my wife).  My sofa is also a lot more comfortable than the theatre seats.  Plus, I don't have to worry about traffic or someone dinging my car door.  Not to mention, I don't have to worry about getting shot, which happened about 25 miles from here when a retired cop got in a confrontation with someone who was talking on his cell phone BEFORE the movie started.

The critics loved it - which doesn't necessarily mean a damned thing.

I can wait for the DVD to come out, or even for it to show up on cable.

Good thing the bystander had good depth perception.
