College / Re: Iowa State 3.0, Oklahoma 1.0
« on: April 16, 2018, 10:26:46 AM »

I've been told that Rosselli has not sold his house in Columbus.

Maybe he wanted a place for his family to live while his son finished high school. Just a hunch, but usually when you take a job a 1000 miles away you don't kick your family out on the street.

I'd surely hate to have facts get in the way of your arguments, but he has some good kids coming in this year. Madrigal was a top 10 kid, not sure why he isn't in any rankings now.

#14 Josiah Jones   Bishop McCort   PA   285
Top 10 Anthony Madrigal   Oak Park River Forest   IL   133/141
#15 Tommy Hoskins   Legacy Christian Academy   OH   125/133
#16 Jaryn Curry   Choctaw   OK   174
Jordan Rosselli   Olentangy Liberty   OH   125/133
Yes, having a kid as a sr in his is a good reason to keep the old house.

Of those kids only 1 is top 10. Is Madrigal hurt, because he did not place at state.

That 285 kid took 3rd in AA; Hoskins took 3rd in Div 3; Curry won state again in OK, but this was one of the worst years in memory for Okla and OSU didn't offer....and Rosselli jr did not place in smallest class.

As I said.   A terrible recruiting haul.

More mediocrity

MacCallum fills a hole but was only 1-2 at the NCAA
I've seen Butler and he is D-2 quality
Campbell did not even place at state
and Rosselli took 4th

I'd hate to even see the numbers on Oklahoma.

Oklahoma has more team championships than Edinboro has individual championships. Hardly comparable on a historical basis.

But if you want to make that comparison on today.. its a terrible insult to Edinboro.

The team score wasnt near as lopsided as the what was on the mat.

First of all AZ won those four matches by a combined 2 points. The US had 1 fall, 2 techs and all of the wins were by more than 1 point.

Wrestlingref - Officiating / Cox vs Azerbaijan

I thought the pushout Cox got should have been scored as a  4 or at least 2.

The action initiated in bounds.. he had both legs wrapped as i recall and it sure looked to me like he had an exposure on the way down as well.

Did anyone else think Cox had that second TD they ruled as only a pushout in that match against Azerbajian?

Desanto seems like a perfect fit for Iowa.

Unfortunate for Sammie. Will be interesting to see who steps in.

Maybe they will hire Lou Rosselli!

Off the topic a little, but could Cael still medal at Worlds?  Last time he tried he got 5th, but I don't think he fully dedicated himself.  Much older now, probably wouldn't even place by now.

Gable wrestled in the room with the guys.  Ground them to dust according to Lewboo.

Yes, Gable was piss pounding those world level young guys for years. He could have won world gold for many years, but he felt like he could make a bigger contribution to the sport as a coach. Staying so active at such a high level at that unmatched Gable intensity is probably why his body fell apart and led him to retire at such a young age. TnT are older now than what Gable was when he retired... certainly doesn't seem like it.

Lee Kemp would have kept him off the team
They weren't the same weight class.  Kemp was bigger.
NOT when he beat Gable in the Great Plains.
