Unless he's changed his mind drastically in the last couple of years Tom would have every dual start at 125.

In the trial process, I'd clearly think the regular singlet would still be allowed.

The "freestyle" singlet hasn't really been a thing for about 10 years since USAW and old FILA went with the preferred high cut style, one that's used in basically every HS and college in this country.

We're talking about removing a potential barrier of entry for kids in a very rough adolescent time. If we don't want kids who don't want to wear a singlet, we're closing the doors on kids who may turn out to be mentally tough enough to wear one and not care when they get older. As a pudgy 14-year-old freshman, I know I didn't want to wear that thing. As I got older, it became less of an issue.

Let's TRY to see if this opens up the sport to another potential pool of athletes, rather than casting them off as wussies for wearing tight-fitting singlets for the first time they try a sport. I see no problem giving a new uniform a chance. We don't know it won't work until we try it.

I'm not against trying it, if it works great.  My opinion has been, and still is, those that don't want to wrestle and say it's because of the uniform, will come up with a different excuse if the uniform changes.  Again, not saying you can't give it a rip, just until proven differently I think there are kids who simply don't want to wrestle and rather than say "I dont' want to wrestle" they say it's a uniform deal.

before it's really proven in the MMA world.  Joey Davis being the latest.

I like the strategy, may not work, but they seem to have a clear plan of getting top end, young, wrestling talent.

Sure makes for a better headline I guess

#2.  When they say "it's not about money", it's about money

No, there have been MMA deaths.  Most at hospitals later but this isn't the first.
