I would have posted this "over there," as people would likely reply to it and have more interest in it, but, due to their goofy pixel limits, it simply won't work. So...
...I've already addressed how UNI literally cannot "grow the sport" anymore, due to the fact that the decision has been made that they are going to stay in the West Gym, come hell or high water, so we are only limited to 2,200 people to be able to watch the sport. Hence, the sport will "stagnate," until some down years return.
With that said, it's interesting to note that we talk of the "crisis" that we are in to grow the sport more and that we have a "dying sport," but that's a tough sell when you contrast these two pictures. The old one is the 1950 NCAA's in the West Gym (note the vacant seats), and the other is every dual at UNI this year, which is a sold out crowd of 2,200 (this specific dual is with Wisconsin).
