I would say, this dual might be a little more important this year,to Indiana, other than just trying not to fall back to the cellar. Indiana coaching is under the microscope. Losing in any sport to Purdue always gets maximum exposure. So that being said, I think Indiana could pull this out. I have it 4 matches each, with 2 matches a toss. Oliver and Jackson have been fairly consistant for Indiana this year, but I don't think they will get bonus points. On the Boilermaker side Chad Welch and to a point Lynde have been the most consistant. But I really don't see bonus points. This one could come down to the last match. Another factor this weekend is IU goes to Iowa Friday night, where as PU has a rest day. We will see. For sake of Indianas program im hoping for a Purdue win.

When and where did it say A wrestler HAS to wrestle every match available to him, in a season.

Here is the story as I see it, factual or not, here it is. Indiana University sports, aka Fred Glass has announced that the university has made a commitment to the wrestling program, The new building will be built next year on campus on the corner of Fee Ln. and east 17th street. It will be a state of the art facility for the team, and any recruits that take a visit. The stipulation here is that  Duane needs to back up the whine of "we are at a disadvantage facility wise here in the Big 10" and start to produce results or put in his resignation. Now no doubt, Dwayne is correct now about I.U.'s wrestling building. But what about 20 years ago when all the Big had the left over space in the arena to practice and condition. That wasn't a legit excuse.
So I wish coach well in his next year at Indiana. Hope the building propels him into the top half of the conference. If not there will be another coaches job opening in the conference.

Of good high school talent ? After watching one of the greatest wrestling state finals in the country, Indiana, I saw the best wrestler in the state is leaving to wrestle at a D1 school outside of Indiana. Which happened last year, the year before and has been goin on for ever. Now I can see once in a while losing a wrestler, but this state is not a D1 wrestling mill. So the few elite wrestlers that do come out of the state, surely could get money from one of the state D1 schools.Any thoughts?

I want to give them a round of applause.Slowly becoming a viable BIG contender. UNI is no push over this year, and Purdue came in and kept it close all match. I really like the coaching and recruiting that is going on at Peeeeee.....Uoooooo........ Pulling themselves away from the bottom feeders. My new favorite team in Indiana!!

Any logical reason State will pull any starters tonight?  I don't think FR. Jackson will go for Hoosiers, and don't know if Ducca is back yet @125. I think Altons probably need the work.

So, I think, this is where it starts for him to show how much improved he is over this past year. Last year Green TF Walsh every time they wrestled if i'm  not mistaken. Won't happen Friday. I wouldn't classify Green as a pinner, but the way Walsh is scrambling now he could get pinned. More than likely it will come down to a St. Johns type match, Green on the defense.

Some interesting matchups for Indiana today will be @149 Walsh,@197 Powless if he is able to go, and I think the Hwt. Chalfant. Indiana has struggled with a real young lineup this year. It wont get any easier either.I see Illinois winning pretty easy.
