Mixed Martial Arts / Pride Had It Right

So, the guy who fought Kimbo flat lined and they saved him in the hospital! Props to the hospital staff, one and all, but why did this happen? It happened because two huge guys had to conform to rules meant for fighters. Watching the fight it's hard to believe Dada-5000 did any cardio, Kimbo did just a wee bit more, so a guy almost dies because the farce must be maintained? Pride had it right, works save lives.

Very entertaining card. Dana hit one out of the ball park IMHO. Opinions on Conor? I was impressed but don't know if he's ready for top 5 guys. What about Clay Guida for a matchup?

Some good history here presented in a barbaric way. Since history is basically one long blood letting, it is honest. It is also very good. IMHO.

Sorry if there is already a thread about this, just finished reading the best Atlantis story ever! IMHO. Written circa 1900 it is eerily contemporary; an amazing work! It's got it all, action, adventure and more! Great book and should be more widely read.

To all fantasy fans here, just finished reading a Serbian Epic (The Battle of Kosovo, awesome) I liked it so much I did some research and ordered some other books. While doing the research though, I found this:

Author contends Tolkien based much of his epic work(s) around Serbia and Serbia's contribution to WWI, I got to say, I think he's on to something. Great book so far, gives a great new perspective to Tolkien's work. Any myth/fantasy fan would like this book.
