I am curious - how does the pay for a coach of one of the OTC clubs compare with being on staff at say, a Big 10 wrestling program or OK State?

It would seem to me to be pretty difficult to justify giving Seniors an extra year of eligibility and not those who would also lose a year but are not done eligibility-wise.  It would be cleaner and more fair to give all NCAA qualifiers an extra year, or else give no one an extra year.

Congratulations to Dutch for another great season. He only had a few down weeks, but made up for it with big tournament weeks, and a great conference team. I appreciate you guys staying with the league for so long. Unfortunately, due to the cancellation of NCAAs, we will not have a finals pool.

As usual, if you have any rules changes, please bring them up sooner, rather than later. That way, we can hopefully vote on them now, and we can get the change noted for next season. Thanks for your patience on the past few weeks scoring, and I hope everyone will be back next season!!

Great season as far as it went - the only suggestion I would make is to have the trade deadline and the waiver deadline be the same - up to the Wednesday before the NCAA's start would be my preference - or maybe the Monday prior to give AKIN a chance to approve any trades - but not in mid-February.

Is this in case your wrestler gets caught using blow right before NCAAs and you need a late trade????😂😂😂

Well yeah - just trying to cover all my bases!

There's a possibility winter sports athletes get another.  I don't think the odds are high, but three is a chance.  Imagine throwing Lewis back into the mix at 165.

And Fix at 133 (if he gets his drug issues behind him)

And Micic at 133/141

And Yianni & Eiermann at 141/149

And Amine at 174/184

And Zahid back (it could happen)

In the immortal words of Lloyd Christmas:

SO YOU'RE TELLING ME THERE'S A CHANCE?

I bet they will not be the only ones to stay home.

Good to know!  I figured that they will make refunds at some point.  It is too bad though - doubt they will be back in the Twin Cities any time soon.

Looks like InterMat is reporting it already.

At this point I just hope I get a refund for my tickets - is that bad of me?

I am not sure that it will matter if they decide to cancel it or have it without ANY fans in the stands.  At this point I think that the NCAA is beginning to feel heat to do something different with  March Madness, and that will likely spill over to the NCAA D-1 Wrestling event with 40-50,000 fans watching 330 sweating, bleeding kids going at it on 6-8 wrestling mats at one time for 3 days.

The President of the University of Minnesota just yesterday cancelled all "non-essential travel" which  might include preventing the Gophers basketball team from going to the Big 10 Tourney - no one knows for sure, although speculation is no one would care given how bad Gopher hoops has been this year.

We also just got our 3rd confirmed case of Corona Virus here in the Twin Cities.  Hold on to your hats, ladies and gentlemen - the roller coaster ride is just starting.
