I've always been a fan or Chris Collinsworth*, but he was an embarrassment as a broadcaster Sunday. He sure seemed to be favoring the Pats. It was ludicrous when he called for the winning TD to be overturned after the receiver took three full steps with the ball before momentarily losing his grip as he fell across the goal line. I'm like, what in the hell are you doing?

*He caught my eye many moons ago, when he pointed out 3 step vs. 5 step QB drops and how corners reacted to that. That was brand new concept to me, and presumably to others of the viewing public.  I wondered if he planned that ahead of time and discussed it with his broadcast partner and the producers back in the "trailer". If any other TV broadcasters had performed similar analyses of QB actions in pro or college football I wasn't aware of it. Now it's common place of course.

The question on the local boards:

When was the last time Kollin Moore took only one shot in a match?

Blame was placed on Moore or Sanderson, which is to say Cassar wasn't getting the proper credit.

DeLuca with the nice upset

He set up both nicely.  The second was the shocker.  Same set up, same throw.  Had Hayes pancaked on the first and the ref was looking elsewhere.

Fool me once, fool me twice...............

I guess we know what OSU will have Hayes working on the week.

Great crowd of +5100.
Yep. Hayes was sooo pinned...unreal it wasn't called. The guy who has impressed me most for the Bucks (besides Snyderman) is MyMar. A new and improved version.

I couldn't believe that Ohio State was picked last year. Hard to believe that they will make it again despite winning over Wisconsin for the Big Ten title. Any chance they will pick USC instead of Alabama? Will find out shortly.

Allow me to add a 4th to that trio... Gabriel Allon. He is a Mossad agent/assassin, ala Mitch Rapp but is more realistic in my opinion. The author of the series is Daniel Silva and is usually focused on terrorism of some sort but also has tales of Vatican intrigue.

If I was ranking the 4 for Baddassness....

1. Reacher
2. Bourne
3. Allon
4. Rapp

FWIW..... John Sanford has a good series of crime books (____ Prey), with Lucas Davenport as the protagonist. Davenport is a lot like Reacher, but he frequently mentions Minnesota wrestling in some of the books, so Im guessing he's a fan.
I just finished "House of Spies" by Silva.  I liked most of the others better, though his postscript at the end of House of Spies discussing real current events was interesting. I thought an earlier book "The Messenger" was particularly touching.

Mitch Rapp remains the most notorious since he murdered a sitting Senator and his campaign manager, while his boss, Irene Kennedy, managed to murder a vice president-elect. None of the other super heroes managed to reach that high.

Who wins with fisticuffs among the four? I'm undecided, but lean toward Rapp one on one against any, though Reacher can beat MORE opponents at once than any of the others. I guess Reacher is the best shooter at distance.

And it ends at 22.
Baseball above all else is a percentage game. If you bet KC last night, bet even more tonight.
If the steak still exists on Saturday, double down on KC. And again (and so forth).

Probably bigger headlines if they lose.

Shhhhhh... supposed to be under the radar.

They have done this without three of their best players (Brantley, Kipnis, and Andrew Miller) with Francona employing a constantly shifting lineup (15 players with at least 21 at bats) during the streak.

I'm so happy that Terry Francona got tired of his Boston gig.

Awesome leader.

I just saw, in  a facebook posting, that one of author Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp thrillers has been made into a movie and will be in theaters soon.
I have posed the question before about who is the toughest:
Jason Bourne (author Robert Ludlum), Jack Reacher (Lee Child), or Mitch Rapp (Flynn)?

Matt Damon did a decent job playing Bourne.  Tom Cruise as Reacher was idiotic IMO. We will see how this Dylan O'Brien does as Mitch Rapp (who could be well played by a very young Sy Stallone).

I wonder how far the movie will diverge from the book in it's plotting.

Now what are the true odds Jake Ryan gets squeezed out of the line up?
Excellent, it appears.

Snyderman, Snyderman,
Does whatever a Snyder can
Throws em down, any size,
Catches legs just like flies

In world class moments
one mat at a time
he finds opponents
on which to dine

Wealth and fame he's ignored
Winning is his reward

Cark was held out to protect his seed. Everyone knows this. It's done all the time.

No, it's done at tOSU all the time, but isn't common practice at schools like Iowa and PSU.  Tell me how this would protect Clark's seed?  If he wins, he is #1 at Big 10s.  If he loses, he is still #2.  This wasn't a seed situation. Clark was protecting his shoulder.  Could he have went?  Of course, but it wasn't worth the risk.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Heard it all before. No excuses permitted. It was seed protection. Period.
