College / Re: Uniform change

In the trial process, I'd clearly think the regular singlet would still be allowed.

The "freestyle" singlet hasn't really been a thing for about 10 years since USAW and old FILA went with the preferred high cut style, one that's used in basically every HS and college in this country.

We're talking about removing a potential barrier of entry for kids in a very rough adolescent time. If we don't want kids who don't want to wear a singlet, we're closing the doors on kids who may turn out to be mentally tough enough to wear one and not care when they get older. As a pudgy 14-year-old freshman, I know I didn't want to wear that thing. As I got older, it became less of an issue.

Let's TRY to see if this opens up the sport to another potential pool of athletes, rather than casting them off as wussies for wearing tight-fitting singlets for the first time they try a sport. I see no problem giving a new uniform a chance. We don't know it won't work until we try it.

I'm not against trying it, if it works great.  My opinion has been, and still is, those that don't want to wrestle and say it's because of the uniform, will come up with a different excuse if the uniform changes.  Again, not saying you can't give it a rip, just until proven differently I think there are kids who simply don't want to wrestle and rather than say "I dont' want to wrestle" they say it's a uniform deal.

before it's really proven in the MMA world.  Joey Davis being the latest.

I like the strategy, may not work, but they seem to have a clear plan of getting top end, young, wrestling talent.

Sure makes for a better headline I guess

Rule #1.  Don't believe a word that comes out of Dana whites mouth, eber.
#2.  When they say "it's not about money", it's about money

No, there have been MMA deaths.  Most at hospitals later but this isn't the first.

Now that McGregor has pulled out of the Diaz fight , why not get Askren to replace him?

1. because he is under contract with another promotion.  Not sure the contract but most don't like to share.
2.  Dana White has been quite vocal about not liking Askren of the way he fights.  As much as it is a "sport" it's still very much spectical and as much as many people would like to see Askren fight the best, the common fan who shells out for the PPV, may not have a clue who he is, and doesn't want to watch him get a TD then not finish.

One thing I did like about the promotion he fights for, knees to the head of grounded opponent.  Changes a lot of aspects of the fight.

seems like an over-reaction to an old fan base comment but, whatever works for you.

 - Do you even know where Lehigh is?

I'm not sure what that has to do with this conversation.  Are you still mad at me because you claimed Riddick would win at least 1 if not more national titles?  Needed more analytics on that claim.

I have an update waiting and haven't done it yet, for a lot of those same reasons.

Early bird special at Sizzler with your wife working the soda machine and giving handjobs to the pimply faced fry guy.

And if it was Lehigh you could package the tickets with an early bird coupon for Sizzler and really pack the place!
