Too bad I can't be there.  Other than trackwrestling for brackets and updates, is there going to be video via flo or anything like that?

I don't like this taking time off bit.  It would be fun to see him challenge John Smith  for the title of most decorataed/greatest American wrestler.  Maybe he will be at the trials.

I say yes but then what will be done with those who don't pass?  Left alone to die?  I don't think so.  But that is the question that has to be asked if drug testing is a requirement to receive welfare aid.

It might cost a little more but I would think that the cargo guys might invest in some defense.  It is ridiculous to be taken over by guys in a small motor boat.  I think a few semi auto rifles and some grenades would do the trick.

It is incomprehensible to me that this could happen.  I can tell you that if I was a cargo operator, I'd arm my ships.  It costs less to do that than to have one taken.

Someone asked why ASU does not get the top recruits.  They went on and on.  I said it was the coaches and alluded to the fact that they are nuts.

I'm sure it will be deleted.  But its the truth.

Buck,

I am curious why you started this topic.  I take it that you disagree with Rush and Hannity.  Understandable.  However, please take a moment and define where you disagree with them and then take your policy disagreement to its logical result.  With that, we can have a real discussion.

Give us some meat, my friend, that we may feast together!!

Global warming?

That's passe, there being no increase in the last 10 years (actually a cooling in the last three) in spite of CO2 increases, even Gore jumped on the "Climate Change" bandwagon; that way if it gets hot you can blame people and if it gets cold you can blame people. Regardless, you demand something be done.
And that's the beauty of it really.  Well stated.

So what is your solution Trip?  And what will be the pros and cons of your solution?

Hey now coach, don't trip up crab.  He's only laughing at us because that's all he can do.  He has no proof to back up his belief that we are in the midst of global warming so he just laughs at us.  He'll say one day or week or month or year doesn't mean anything because it is happening.  He'll really start to laugh when you tell him Mars is warming also.

Actually, there is enough yay sayers and nay sayers both in the public at large and in the scientific community that it is too early to say the sky is falling.  But that is the direction our politicos want to go and all you have to do is see what they are proposing to see what it really is; a power grab the likes of which we in the free world are not used to.  They will use this as an excuse to control what governments should not control.  That would be us.

No way, she's royal.  She should stay and the ceremonial monarchy should stay if only to remember what the people worked so hard to rid themselves of.  It is a great reminder, not that anyone pays attention to it.

Quote from: "ER Coach"
If you are 20 and not a liberal, you have no heart. If you are 40 and not a conservative, you have no brain.

Along the lines of:  A liberal is simply a conservative that has yet to be mugged.
Winston Churchill (no not that other Churchill) said that about liberals and conservatives years ago.

I think it is mostly true.  But what is liberal and what is conservative.  In Revolutionary times, the founders were definitely not conservatives, however, anyone trying to continue their view are labelled right wing nut jobs.

Liberals look for another way to do things, usually trying to find a better way to do things.  In the case of our founders, that was to throw off big brother (the king) and have individual liberty, the freedom to make of yourself what you want.  To go where you want to go, no questions asked.  To work in the field or industry, your choice.  However, that is not the case today.  We have gone full circle where liberals are now associated with the ideas that we need to be taken care of (bring on big brother), that our liberty is not inherent in life but a privelidge to be taken and given, that we should be socialized into the jobs we will perform the rest of our lives, to know where everyone is at all times to better keep the peace and safety, to regulate farming and industry to the point where neither is profitable or doable except as the liberal decides.  We have gone full circle from a monarchy type big brother situation to full individual liberty and back to big brother taking care of us and doing us in.

The fallacy of liberalism is that when you have the best situation of government the world has ever known and the individual liberty provided, you cannot make changes to it without damaging it.  Modern liberalism is not about being increasing our freedom of choice and liberty, but it is the opposite, to impose a vision upon people both willing and unwilling to be imposed upon.

Liberalism and liberty share the same root and for good cause.  However, the way modern liberals interpret themselves, they are anti-liberty.  They will acknowledge this stating that they should be able to strip some liberty because they are working for the communal better good.  But when liberty gets stripped away, it is easier to strip off a little more.

I don't think we are there yet, but with the ideas coming from Congress and the current administration, you can see it forming.  If they pass their plans and they become law, I think it will be a signal change in the way our liberty is interpreted.  Some will like it some will not.  But the fact will remain, that we will have quietly given up our God given right to individual liberty like no other time in our history.
