Best & Worst MMA Nicknames
« on: September 02, 2011, 10:12:38 AM »
What do you think are  the best, worst, or funniest MMA nicknames?

I'll start with Kenny "KenFlo" Florian.  To me, that's a horrible nickname ... it sounds like he's ready to menstruate.
There's always Bulgaria.

The American Psycho is not fitting for Bonner. Not sure if its considered a "worst".

Mr Wonderful sounds like Mr Happy.

When all else fails, do the opposite...

To me all contrived nicknames suck.  If you can't call the person by that name in the gym when he's training then I don't care for it being called it by a ring announcer.  "hendo" is a nickname.  "King Mo" is a nickname.  If it has to have "the" in front of it, not going to work real well for me.
Since Jammen has told me twice to change my signature, I can only assume his wrestling knowledge is no longer something I can count on along with pizza and beer.

What the frick does "Big Country" mean???   Is that an omelet or a lunch special at Denny's?   Roy Nelson needs to come up with something else.   That big rascal.   Maybe he should be called "That Big Rascal".
Ok, stop right there.........and I'll bring back the sun.

I say he sticks with Big Country and start plugging it with Dennys as some big ass special.  Endorsements that make sense.

Wouldn't that be great?  You sit down and have the big country breakfast at Denny's.....then after you're finished, Roy Nelson runs out of the kitchen and punches you right in the face.

People should never pick their own nicknames.  They sound better when they are given and usually are given for something they did that was kind of goofy, or it is a play on their names.

To name a few that came to mind for the worst list

Frank "Twinkle Toes" Trigg  -  "I Get Rear Naked Choked" is more appropriate
Phil "New York Bad Ass" Baroni - I'm more terrified of Brycemus's sister
Kendall "Da Spida" Grove - if you're gonna have a nickname, spell it right, this also applies to you Rashad Evans
Kirill "Baby Fedor" Sidelnikov - really? what about "Bitch Fedor"
Sean "The Muscle Shark" Sherk - WTF?

List of what I consider the best

Vladimir "The Janitor" Matyushenko - Look at the guy, he looks like every janitor in every high school anywhere you go, plus I heard an interesting, if true, story of how he got it
Randy "The Natural" Couture - it just fits
Jens "Little Evil" Pulver - he's diminutive and fairly psychotic
and any name to which you say it, and nearly anyone knows who you speak of, for example, rampage, the iceman, the natural, crocop (yes, that is a nickname and not his actual name),

and an honorable mention to those that are just odd

Bas "El Guapo" Rutten - a danish guy with a spanish nickname?
Jacob "Christmas" Volkmann -  met and hung out with the guy numerous times, and no idea
Chris "The Cat Smasher" Leben - actually used to be his nickname prior to "The Crippler"

have a nice day

Along these lines, I will always root for a guy who steps into the cage with no tattoos and no nickname.
