Ben Askren Undefeated in MMA??? Something's fishy here.......

Ben Askren is undefeated and champion at welterweight in Bellator.   

Does he win a single match if he fought in the UFC from day one??  I think Askren is phenomenal at how he makes winning wrestling matches work, but fighting?  I think I could beat him fighting and I bruise easy.

A little.  He can't strike, can he?  He takes down these opponents and somehow they don't submit him.  Or somehow they can't punch him standing up.   I wonder if these fights are like the ones in Japan where they are slightly fixed.   Maybe his opponents just stink.

He is most certainly garbage on his feet.  However, there is hardly a person who can out wrestle him.  He is also a world class BJJ practitioner.  If someone can't out wrestle him or sub him then their only option is to catch him on their feet.  He can too easily control a fight.  Boring?  Yes.  Hard to beat?  Very much so.

Watch the Lyman Good and Dan Hornbuckle fights.  They both had easy triangle chokes on him and RELEASED THEM.  I think those fights are fixed - what purpose for, your guess is as good as mine.

Hornbuckle never got his legs into a Figure 4 position. I think Askren forcing all of his weight on Good's neck and stretching it to its limit as he flipped him over probably had something to do him letting go of the triangle.

If that's the case with both of those opponents, then the opponents are terrible.  If Fuhr believes for a second Askren would last against any top ten fighter in the UFC, then he is 'trolling'.   Its funny how the word "trolling" always happens when the common opinion is disagreed upon.   Goes with the territory on boards.

Let's discuss this reasonably though ... I can see why Elite XC would fix Kimbo's fights.  The guy had a huge internet following and was a big draw.  But, why would an organization fix fights for a "boring" wrestler that only people like us know about?
