Looks like it's too hot or too cold. Not much in the yellow.

Made it till 1:00 then the sun came over the roof - topped out t 94....... IN OCTOBER !

Hand rails, ballusters and rim are done.  Found this little gem at Harbor Freight...1'2" band file sander. It worked wonders on the tight spots between ballusters and on the posts where I couldn't fit an orbital.  It's a mini portable belt sander, 1/2" belt

So when will he be on Forged in Fire ?  That's something I always wanted to do.  I forged an ice pick in an art metallurgy class but never found the time to take an advanced class in the metals shop.

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood morning everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did a cold chisel, a knife and a hatchet in metals class. Pretty crude in comparison to Forged In Fire. Wonder if they allow kids today to make sharp objects.

Have an awesome day word!

Heck, the HS here eliminated the wood shop.

My old metals shop doubled as an auto body shop.  The students would fix the dents in student and teachers cars for the cost of parts and the local body shop would do the paint. At one time, they also did the paint but too many repairs were screwed up with sloppy paint so they ended that.the first year.  There was always a long wait list for the work even though we could only do jobs that could driven away the same day.  Back then everything was bolted together so we could replace quarters, fenders, doors, mirrors, hoods and trunks in a single class and the teachers would drop off the car at the paint shop the next morning..It helped having two major junk yards nearby.

Speaking of making metal things, I think it would be kind of exciting to build a spatula with a gallium blade. Gallium is a solid metal at room temperature but its melting point is 86° F. The idea would be to get a video of the cook's face as he or she went to flip a burger and the spatula melted.

Two things:

1.  My son is an avid viewer of Forged in Fire.  He loves that show.  I had never heard of it.  Anyway, I think he would like to aspire to that level, but he is not there now.

2.  Gallium - That would be funny for sure.  But I'm not sure liquid gallium on the grill would be all that good for you.  But funny nonetheless word!
