Great tourney for both guys.  Rhetorical question (sorta) ... Gwiz had an 88 match win streak, meaning he was undefeated for close to three seasons. Why was that not a big story in general sports news?

It was on Sportscenter or whatever's ESPN equivalent is on Sunday morning.

Right, but why not at any point before that ... like maybe last year when he was an undefeated champ on a 50+ match win streak going back a season and a half?  Or during this year as he continued as undefeated 2-time defending champ?  Granted, this stuff was probably presented during coverage of the championships.  I'm talking about at some other time as a general college sports story - not a side note to this coverage.

I hear ya, but until wrestling gets more mainstream fans it isn't going to get mainstream coverage on national media outlets.  I'm sure there are people on the collegiate gymnastics, field hockey, soccer, fencing etc forums saying the same things about their athletes not getting coverage.  You need rare events and big story lines to break out of the media circle most collegiate sports are in.  Not saying its right but that's how it goes...
