Time to head to the garage.

Robot Wars rebooted for BBC Two

Mentorn Scotland, part of the Tinopolis Group, has been commissioned by BBC Two to produce a new series of the man and machine battle series Robot Wars, it was announced today.

The iconic entertainment show will return as a 6x60’ series and will feature a new structure with more robots, more battles and more science than ever before.

The new series includes a raft of technological advances since the show first aired over a decade ago, and viewers can expect to see more innovative fighting machines as teams of amateur roboteers battle it out to win the coveted Robot Wars title.

I wonder what the rules and limitations are.

I believe these were the rules for the last series.

One of the things that's exciting about this, for me, is that my son loves this show. It'll be fun to be able to watch new episodes with him as they come out.

I expect that the control systems on the newer machines will be a lot more sophisticated. I hope they talk a bit about the software.

My uncle is a software engineer but also tinkers with mechanical.  He and my cousin love that kind of stuff.  I wonder how much artificial intelligence can be programmed into them.

We already have some degrees of AI programmed into cars with so called smart braking and self parking.

It's pretty cool stuff though.
