Both tweeting that they are retiring?  Could there be more to follow?

McGregor confirms retirement

Maybe being cageside as a fighter died right in front of him freaked him out. Isn't that the first death in MMA history too?

No, there have been MMA deaths.  Most at hospitals later but this isn't the first.
Since Jammen has told me twice to change my signature, I can only assume his wrestling knowledge is no longer something I can count on along with pizza and beer.

He died from injuries later not in the cage.

And now he isn't retired and wants to still fight at UFC 200?  Dude's stepping on my last nerve.

After talking it over with my son I thought the retirement angle was a play to beat a drug test. Now I don't know what to think. Probably is money like Fuhr says.

He'll be back. I think all the success got to his head but this will knock him back down to earth. I'm not sure if he'll ever be the same mentally though.

It's bee sort of about entitlement. Conor has done so much for the UFC he feels he should be entitled to take a step back for once this one time. I personally think he deserves it. But, he was the main event of their biggest card in a very long time. They want this to be their highest grossing card of all time. So they don't believe now is the right time to take a step back on the promotional end. I could agree with that as well.
Conor used his retirement as a bargaining chip thinking that the UFC will not turn down their money maker. However, Conor should not have done this on social media. All eyes were on how the UFC would cave or hold their position. He should have texted that to you the Fertitas and Dana.

He definitely needs to commit to a camp, Diaz mauled him on short notice, what will happen with a full camp under Diaz's belt?
