The guy that Sushil Kumar tried to secure a wrestle off with via the courts has failed a drug test.

Not sure if India will send anyone to Rio at 74 kilos.

I guess you can only send a replacement athlete if the original qualifier gets injured.

Failed drug test does not equate to injury.

This entire episode has been an exercise in futility and general scumbaggery.

Kumar shows up and demands a wrestle-off after competing twice in three years -- one of those events he lost to a scrub from France who's never placed at the Worlds.
Yadav earned the place at Worlds, has been Top 8 in like 10 events at the weight.
I think there were some shenanigans regarding Yadav failing a drug test of such an obviously bad choice of a steroid when he'd been clean for years prior. He only pops after Kumar is denied and the only two to pop were the same thing and guys staying in the same room.

This whole thing reeks.

Then they don't even take Kumar after Yadav pops! That, to me, says people were like "No Kumar, you were NOT going to just show up and take the spot from one of three guys"

JB raises some interesting points

http://www.news18.com/news/other-sports/sushil-kumars-aide-behind-sabotage-attempt-narsingh-yadavs-brother-1274465.html

- When I read about the test, it was of a steriod that I had heard before and didn't feel the need to google.  It is not like it was  cutting-edge type of drug.  Heck, it was probably what Ben Johnson was flagged with.

- It was an internal test, not one done by WADA, the IOC, or whichever lab the UWW is using. I assumed when this late in the game, it would be done by an international agency.

What athlete who IS doping is going to, in their right mind, use an easily traceable, water soluble style of drug that's about as blatantly open as you can get?

Two tests AFTER he'd won the right to compete in the courts -- two that weren't by WADA, likely looking for something someone put there?

I think Yadav is getting hosed here.

Yadav now back in?

http://www.straitstimes.com/sport/wrestling-indias-yadav-cleared-of-doping-to-keep-his-rio-hopes-alive

Indian wrestling authorities believe that he may have been sabotaged after all.

RYou, were you taller than any of them? When I rode on a flight from Dallas to Ok City with the Texas A&M women's volleyball team, I think they all had me beat by at least 4 inches.

Not even close to the shortest guard.  Almost topped the equipment manager though.
