"This video contains content from Starz Media LLC, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds." Is that why you called it a teaser?

Here let me find a non-broken link for ya. Starz wants you to go to their actual site to see it but that site pops up people's firewalls for some reason.

Since this is the official Starz YouTube channel I doubt it will get taken down haha. Bad form by Starz though people sharing your trailer like that builds hype they shouldn't be shutting those down

Good book, very good book, marred however by needless pornography. Neil Gaiman, China Mielville, both entertain, both are very talented, all in spite of being indebted to Michael Moorcock. If you like American Gods, try, King Rat.

Sandman is still my favorite anything, to the point that I'm disappointed it is being adapted to a movie.  It is already perfect!  American Gods is my favorite of his novels, with The Ocean at the End of the Lane a distant second.  American Gods should make an amazing television show.

By the way ocianain, King Rat was a great book, but what I remember most about it is one night after drinking a lot, I rolled over in bed and vomited all over the floor.  I was too drunk to care (this was back in the day before having kids).  Woke up the next day and noticed I vomited all over King Rat.  I wasn't finished with the book yet, so I just wiped off the cover and read the rest of the book.  That's how much I appreciate Mieville.  I'm way out of the loop though.  My limited reading time over the last few years has been largely devoted to comic books, and I'm not sure I'd jump at any new Mieville unless it happens to be another Bas-Lag story; in which case I'd be all over it.

Given the circumstances, you're to be very much applauded for finishing the book! You're a true bibliophile! I wish Gaiman didn't mar the book as he did, I can't recommend it because of its problematical scene and I'm sure there are lots of other people like me out there who think like me. I got to read more of both, it's been awhile.

Which scene?  The whole premise of the book is enough to offend the anti-pagan crowd, so I'm not sure exactly which scene you are referring to.  Wouldn't be the Queen of Sheba eating a guy with her vagina would it?  I found that Gaiman mostly improved on the biblical characters, and those from other mythologies as well.  One of his strengths is taking the familiar and spinning it in such a way that makes it fresh and original.  Mieville did the same thing with King Rat.

Surprisingly I've found it's not Bilquis and her hungry hungry vagina that turns people off, mostly because that scene is so good I suspect. I also think it's going to be the last scene of the first episode since it shows us just how crazy this world actually is.

What turned my mother off finishing my American Gods was the scene between the Ifrit and the Muslim man. It's not even a very explicit scene but just the idea sets some people off.

I don't remember a lot of the details at this point, so the show should be a good refresher.  I'm wondering where they will take the show though.  The premise can run a lot further than the plot that Gaiman laid out for the book.  I think they can use pretty much everything in the book, but maybe change the arch to allow them to explore the world over multiple seasons, and then when they are ready to wrap it up, they can go back to the book.

They are planning three seasons right now to allow them to really flesh out the world Neil Gaiman created. House on the Rock is supposed to be the end of the first season from what I know where Shadow finally realizes he is dealing with Gods.
