My opinion (a fairly popular one I would think) on Repechage

Just a quick thought after noticing the recruiting rankings adjacent to TOM Talk.

#8. Navy
#10. Gardner-Webb

There could be some interesting poop behind the success for these two schools.

Repechage is a joke.  The double bronze could easily be called two 4th place finishes as well.  They might as well just make it a single elimination tournament and have the losing semi finalists wrestle for a bronze.  No modern rule or pairing set is ever going to yield a true bronze again.  Unless UWW brings back the pool system circa 1988, 1992, or adopts a double elimination format, we are stuck with a farce.

Let's see where they are at the end of the recruiting season.

My less than popular opinion about idiots in the Iowa Hawkeye fan base

What should grind your gears are folkstyle rules stuck in the 70's.  Whole swaths of fans lost due to boredom, including many of those same Iowa fans who used to care.

I guess it depends on what floats your boat.  I thought the NCAA's had great matches this year.  Freestyle has gotten better recently, but is still not as good as it was in the 70's.  Greco is still a snooze fest at the highest levels.  The Olympics were ruined by lousy coverage and corrupt officiating (what else is new?).

In general, I much prefer our folkstyle over the international styles.

Nothing more exciting than 15 restarts, 5 cautions for false starts and 3:50 of riding time.

Beats the heck out of the Olympic Greco, where two guys lean on one another until the ref gets bored and puts one down so his opponent can roll through with a gut wrench, then they lean on each other for the rest of the match.  Of course, there is freestyle, where the ref puts one guy on the shot clock so his opponent can get a point when neither of them do anything.

Different strokes for different folks.

If there were five cautions for false starts that would mean EVERY match would have at least one penalty point. Pretty sure that isn't even close to the truth

Of course you guys are right and I'm wrong, folk is so popular that programs are being added left and right and every dual is sold out.  We're riding a crazy wave here.
