He winced as the last match ended, but I couldn't see a specific injury. He didn't limp, hold his shoulder, nothing. Anyone have insights?

Back has been ailing him for years.  Offered no more resistance than a dishrag in his last two matches.

Even a dishrag stiffens up when it dries.

Dlagnev has always been right on the cusp of greatness but I think this was his last cycle. Not sure who our next heavy will be, maybe Bradley. But it appears that Dlagnev has earned his retirement

When he walked off the mat and down from the stage, he stopped knelt and held his head in his hands for a while. Coaches came over and were talking to him. He finally rose up and looked a bit hesitant in his stride. It had me wondering if he was all right. It's pretty apparent he wasn't. Likely he refused to forfeit when he should have. Or....
I could be totally wrong.

Think it was posted elsewhere, but major back injury.  I'm amazed he gutted out two wins with it.

Back problems ended my wrestling career I'm amazed he wrestled on them. Like I said he has always been just right there and this year it was those injury problems that kept plaguing him

Back surgery in March is what I heard.
