When Coleman Scott gets his gold medal now can he sue WADA for lost wages?
Not sure what basis he can sue.
I clearly remember in the run up to the Beijing Olympics, it was stated that the blood/urine would be held for a period of time because they knew that the testing labs were still a few years behind on catching up with the cheaters.
The WADA, VADA, USADA, etc. simply didn't have the technology at the time to catch the cheaters.
Now that the technology of 2016 has caught up to the drugs of 2012, what was against the rules in 2012 are being highlighted and results will be updated.
Now, if WADA knew that Coleman's opponents were doping four years ago, and let the test results slide, then Scott would have a case.
Rather I think this is just a matter of the testing labs finally catching up to the dopers from four years ago.
I assume that will also mean that come 2020, we may see some results from 2016 change.
