My Senior Year Update
« on: February 20, 2017, 10:55:13 pm »
Hey guys, just wanna give an update on how I did this year...

It was a disappointing end to the season to say the least....

I ended taking 1st at regionals to qualify for state, pinning my way through the tournament....

I went 1-2 at state as the #3 seed. Got a brutal draw, but can't use that as an excuse...

I dealt with a few nagging injuries through the season which didn't allow me to wrestle to my full capability/potential. (had a bad wrist injury in the middle of the season & a pretty serious back injury during the post season).

As a senior, who had already been to state, I expected a lot out of myself, I wanted to be at the top of the podium, no exceptions.

I felt as if I let a lot of people down, my teammates, coaches, fans, etc.

I am extremely proud of my two teammates winning titles, however. (Both undefeated.. Freshman - 50-0, Senior - 45-0)

Now time to take some time off and think about what I want to do next, whether it's to continue my wrestling career or help out with coaching, but I am unsure as of now.

Thanks for following me along my wrestling journey!

You've come a long way young man. It's crazy for some of us to think of the days of "Gage Talk" on TWT.

College plans?

Not sure as of now.

I've gotten a few calls and messages from coaches at the D2, D3 and NAIA level, so I'm considering everything right now.

I'm leaning towards going to a local CC and helping out with the high school team next year.

You can't go wrong with that plan, Gage. Get a few credits under your belt while you figure things out.
