I can see where he gets it from.  His dad is talking him up and defending him on the other mat forum.  I guess he was a good fit his senior year at Oviedo HS.

My media focus these days is still robust, but it's not like I used to be with InterMat, AWN and TOM in terms of breaking news on commitments, doing rankings or creating magazines and written feature work. I'm developing on-demand media via hosting and producing podcasts for clients, as well as hosting my own interview-based show on Mat Talk Online.

I'm still curating wrestling news through my daily newsletter, doing nightly scoreboards and am the only person in this country keeping dual meet standings for D1, D2, D3 and the NAIA. I'm also embarking on a number of historical initiatives with my own databases and research with some of them in tandem with the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Oh, and there's that broadcasting and PA stuff I still do. Broadcasting not nearly as much, but PA work is starting to pick up more and more.

Pat Downey and his father are in a contest for biggest dipshit in wrestling. He's be on like 5 teams since HS. Didn't even get to wrestle his senior yr.

Sam Cook  will be at that weight as well now that he has realized he is too small for football and is headed back to the wrestling mat. Won titles his Junior and Senior year in Iowa. Went undefeated as a senior. We need depth right now at 184 197

I don't see Downey's antics going over well with either of the Brands

Those Brands boys don't like no drama that exceeds their own.  Just kidding.  A talent will not be tolerated if he/she brings contention and disruption.  There are numerous examples.
