My summer vacation
« on: August 29, 2017, 06:58:59 pm »
Well, we went to visit my brother in Meridian, ID.  We went whitewater rafting on the Payette river and that was a lot of fun.  I really enjoyed it.  Next, my brother and I jammed on guitar and bass, and that was fun.  It would have been more fun if it lasted a lot longer.

Then we went to Payette, ID to see the eclipse and it was just plain awesome.  Not much more to say about that.

We finished up the trip going to a water park and jamming with my nephew and brother.

We made it home in time to install a new front door to the house.  Big job.   Not looking forward to anything similar in the near future.

What is a "vacation"?  I need to try that sometime.  Actually, in October, I'll hit Branson a couple days and then to a Poco concert.
Several are on "ignore".   I won't argue with the ignorant and disrespectful..

Here are a few of the pictures I took of Monday's eclipse. We watched from the Barn Loft at a ranch just outside Casper WY. They had snacks and drinks, a good view, and served us a nice lunch after the eclipse. During totality, about two and a half minutes, it got cooler, a coyote howled, and the cattle lay down. Our first and probably last chance to see a total eclipse of the sun.

Totality

Third contact--sun emerges

Just after totality--a short nighttime

Nice pictures and a great story.  We were in a field but there were no animals close by.  There were dogs but I don't remember them saying much during the eclipse.  They sure did during the night before when we were camping in the backyard.

Sounds like fun.

There is another eclipse coming to the U.S. on April 8th, 2024.

A little further east...but lucky Nashville will get both.

Or next year in southern Chile.  Good time to go see that area of the world.
