Yeah, the schedule I got is not the best.   It says medal matches are at 6:00 am EST.  That is 3 am my time.   I got up at six and they were still going with Bronze between 6:30 and 7:00.   Women went first last night and then the men.  Some good stuff.

But here it is:

Yarygin Grand Prix Schedule (All Times EST)

Thu January 25 (WFS: 50 kg, 55 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg. MFS: 57 kg, 61 kg, 70 kg.)

11 p.m. – Elimination and Repechage Rounds

6 a.m. – Opening Ceremony

6:45 p.m. – Medal Matches

Fri  January 26 (WFS: 53 kg, 57 kg, 62 kg, 68 kg. MFS: 65 kg, 79 kg, 125 kg.)

11 p.m. – Elimination and Repechage Rounds

6 a.m. – Medal Matches

Sat  January 27 (WFS: 72 kg, 76 kg. MFS: 74 kg, 86 kg, 92 kg, 97 kg.)

11 p.m. – Elimination and Repechage Rounds

6 a.m. – Medal Matches

I watched the Tank get the Bronze.  He had a great 2nd period.  Really worked hard and solidified it.  That was nice.  I don't remember the score.

Ramos took 5th.  I saw that too this morning.  He lost to Bogomoev who I watched last night beat a Turk.  He's good but does a lot of pushing away.  Does not like to tie up.  I think he is a counter wrestler more than on offensive wrestler.  Anyway, Ramos lost, it was not especially close.  I don't remember the score.

Last night Cory Clark came close but lost his first match.  It was a real good match really, he lost 8-6.

Perilli lost in the semi's and is going for bronze.  I don't know the status.

You can see the brackets here:

https://en.wikipedia...freestyle_57_kg

https://en.wikipedia...freestyle_61_kg

https://en.wikipedia...freestyle_70_kg

They are available at themat.com forums.  A guy from Russia named Abdullah keeps everyone informed over there about all stuff Russian as far as wrestling goes.

Enjoy it.  There was some outstanding wrestling there from what I saw.

From UWW website https://unitedworldwrestling.org/event/ivan-yariguin-3

FS 57kg

Gold
Zavur UGUEV (RUS) df. Azamat TUSKAEV (RUS) by VPO1, 4 - 1

BRONZE
Tsogbadrakh TSEVEENSUREN (MGL) df. Baris KAYA (TUR) by VPO1, 5 - 1
Khuresh ool DONDUK OOL (RUS) df. Frank PERRELLI IV (USA)    by VPO1, 5 - 3

FS 61kg

Gold
Gadzhimurad RASHIDOV (RUS) df. Ismail MUSUKAEV (RUS) by VPO1, 3 - 2

BRONZE
Aleksandr BOGOMOEV (RUS) df. Anthony RAMOS (USA) by VPO, 4 - 0
Tuvshintulga TUMENBILEG (MGL) df. Abbos RAKHMONOV (UZB) by VPO1, 5 - 1

FS 70kg

Gold
Magomed KURBANALIEV (RUS) df. Magomedrasul GAZIMAGOMEDOV (RUS) by VPO1, 2 - 2

BRONZE
Andriy KVYATKOVSKYY (UKR) df. Israil KASUMOV (RUS) by VSU1, 13 - 2
Frank MOLINARO (USA) df. Levan KELEKHSASHVILI (GEO) by VPO1, 5 - 3

So in the 3 weights, we had guys going for Bronze, not bad for the toughest tourney in the world.  By UWW fiat, only 3 Russians could participate in any weight.  Saying that, the three won gold/silver/bronze at 57 and 61.   At 70, two Russians won Gold/Silver.   So the Russians dominated the first three weights.  Not a surprise but wow!!

Taylor gave up an early TD and NF but then came bulldozing back to tie, and then pin the Russian.

Classic Snyder in his methodical way for gold.

Taylor got the fall in both the semi's and the finals.  When was the last time you saw anyone do that on such a stage?  He did it with an armbar in the first instance and modified it.  And it looked like he did a cheap tilt in the finals and then got on top and pinned him.  I think this is something a freestyle only wrestler does not have in his arsenal because exposure is what they are going for.  Taylor's folkstyle led to this result in my opinion.  Very impressive in any event.
