Heil
« on: January 28, 2018, 09:28:30 PM »
2x returning, defending Champ with a 50+ match win streak to begin the season.

Gets pinned by Eierman then drops a match to Ian Parker of Iowa State. It was Parker's 2nd match ever at 141, bumping up from 133.

Heil has now lost 4 of his last 7 (albeit Meredith, Jack, and Eirman are very good).

What gives?

I'll hazard a guess he can't handle the weight cut and wont up it to 149 and face retherford.

Interesting take. It's certainly something I thought about since Heil isn't exactly a small 141lber. The tournament format should be friendlier to him than the duals.

If that is the case, is it too late for him to move up and put someone else in at 141?

Parker will remain at 141 the rest of the year.

Parker bumped up from 133 for that bout.

Damion Hahn jumped from 184 to 197 in Feb his senior year and won the championship.

149 Lewallen is ranked #15.  It would appear to be a competitive wrestle off.

Kaden Gfeller won the Scuffle at 141, he and Boo Lewellan might wrestle for it. Im not sure they'd burn Gfeller's RS though

I think it's just mental.  He is struggling with the loss and hasn't moved on.  Give it time, he will be a dangerous 7th or 8th seed come Nationals.  He will still get another shot at Meredith as well in the B12 finals right?

He's lost 4 of his last 7 including one to a 133'er.

I just hope it isn't more serious than weight cutting.  Remember Frey....came back horribly, then we found out why.

He's reminding me of Johnny Thompson.

What do you think Spradle?
