NCAA Changes the Transfer Rule

Scholarship athletes re now free to to transfer out of one program and accept scholarship aid from another program without losing a year. All an athlete has to do is inform his head coach he would like to explore a transfer.
The coach gets 2 days to post the student athletes name on an NCAA website and once there the athlete can contact other coaches.
All goes into effect Oct 15, 2018.
The sole caveat......coaches can block an athlete from transferring to a school within the conference.

Wow, that may hurt some business for some lawyers. I am glad. I like the idea to allow a coach to block it within the conference.

B1G also keeps their 1 year of eligibility penalty for an in-conference transfer, as do most others.
On the football side, I expect to see a lot of exits from Alabama Just too much talent there that wants to start,

I like it being at the coaches discretion though.

Just in conference. No discretion out of conference. Depending on timing of the decision, a kid could lose all scholar money if he decides to stay. There is no obligation to keep it as offered.
