Is listed as the projected starter for Arizona State next season at 157 lbs.   I'm wondering if there is anything that supports that projection.   When was the last time that Anthony Valencia competed at 157 lbs???  Can he really cut the weight and compete next season at 157 lbs?   I was thinking he would be more likely to move UP to 174 lbs with his brother Zahid moving up to 184 lbs (or taking an Olympic RS).

I also thought that the starter for next season for ASU at 157 lbs would likely be between Josh Maruca and Jacori Teemer - whichever one of those two is not at 149 lbs next season.

And NOW............as of Saturday A.M. (the 29th) I see that WrestleStat has changed Anthony Valencia from 157 lbs (a few days ago) to 174 lbs.  :o

I have to wonder why nobody has considered the possibility of Josh Sheilds dropping back down to 157 lbs for next season.  After all Sheilds competed at 157 lbs for half of the 2016 season and all of the 2017 and 2018 seasons.   Assuming he could make the drop back down to 157 lbs I would have to think he could contend for a national championship at that weight.   The 2019 champ at 157 (Nolf of Penn State) won't be back for 2020 and the runner-up, Tyler Berger of Nebraska, lost to Sheilds (6-4) in 2018.  Shields also defeated Pantaleo - who placed 3rd in 2019 - 4-3 in 2018.  And Shields also defeated Hidlay of NC State (who placed 4th in 2019) by a score of 3-1 in 2018.

All a result/downside of allowing ANY registered user to be able to switch a wrestlers weight...

Once we come across these changes in our "Approval Queue", we'll either reject or accept the change....it was probably sitting in our approval queue while you looked at the page, and has since been rejected.
