Burroughs, been around too many blocks.

This is why Im tempted to take Zahid.

Okay... I'll jump.

Zahid
8-6
Zahid is as quick as anyone that Burroughs has faced. Burroughs speed peaked a few years ago and has been slowing with every year. Its a bigger weight which will make it easier for Burroughs to make weight so his gas tank will be la bit deeper than at 74KG but will this be enough to offset the larger size of Zahid? The experience factor is a huge advantage for Burroughs.

If  this was 2 years ago I would have taken JB, but age is not his friend this time.

This match was won by shape. Zahid was both quicker and stronger than Burroughs. But I knew Zahid was probably toast toward the end of the 1st when he came up glassy eyed after going out of bounds.

That challenge to Taylor is Burroughs attempt to test the waters at a higher weight. He wants to move up but has to make sure he can beat Taylor before he commits to gaining weight.

In spite of this win, Burroughs is in a tough spot.

Takedown wrestling - has worked well for Jordan.  I've never seen him get any exposure points either for or against in any of his matches.

I believe he did against Dake... a couple of times.

If this is a bid for JB to go up in weight, I don't think that will work out well for him.  Taylor is too big and too much anymore.  Zahid is good, but is no Taylor.   Perhaps he feels Dake breathing down his neck and is looking for options.   He and Dake could trade spots and JB might be world champ again.  On the other hand, JB may just decide he stays and will beat down all comers and become Oly champ again.  At his level, it is desire and the amount of work you are willing to put in due to that desire.  He just has to want it more.

There has never been a question of JB's desire or commitment. His problem is age. It can be delayed, as he has, but it alwys wins out.

True about aging.  If the weight is too hard to cut then he should go up.  But that is a large leap from 74 to 86.  That's 26 lbs.

Old is Old no way around it. Happens to all of us... well more to some than others, I think Bryce still looks like he is 12, but for the rest of us, we even look old.
