Impressive win by Alabama, especially after the way Ohio State destroyed Clemson in the semifinals.

Did not watch the game, glad the Tide won.   They are my team.   Grew up in Huntsville, AL and Bear Bryant was the man.   Roll Tide!!!

And Sabin passed the Bear for most national championships, with seven (including one at LSU) to six for Bryant.

LSU doesn't count.  Only 'Bama counts if you are talking about the Bear.  So maybe he'll surpass the Bear next year!!

Well, he doesn't appear to be going anywhere, even if he is at an age where most people are retired.

I also wonder how many more titles the Bear would have won if he coached under the current system.  If I remember correctly, he had a couple of undefeated teams that didn't rank first in the polls.  This may or may not have been due to regional bias by the voters or even the desire for a team other than Alabama to be champion.
