MMA is more brutal than you thought.
Khetag Pliev, an Olympic wrestler for Canada in 2012, was taking on Devin Goodale and while Pliev was being attended to between the second and third rounds, his corner noticed something was off.
His finger.
Pliev discovered his right ring finger was not where he left it.
"I can’t remember anything, I don’t know, "I got hit by something big, I don’t remember what happened. I’m just being honest."
"His finger was just gone. It's gone. It fell off, ripped off."An announcement was made over the PA system asking those at the venue to be on the lookout for the finger.
Pliev’s finger was found in his glove. He was taken to the hospital and had it reattached.
It was a ring finger, not the pinky or thumb which being outer joints would be more susceptible. The ring finger is buried in the middle of the fist.
