Good - I hope they cut all the fat and leave three things: infrastructure, unemployment benefits and tax cuts (an increased permanent version).

If you put $800 billion into those three things, I bet you'd see stimulus.

Temporary maybe

The current economic downturn is merely a symptom of a much bigger problem.

Exactly...but i'm afraid we are going to see nothing but partisan sniping continue as the ship goes down. Sad really, sad for the people that don't deserve this type of poor leadership.

Which is the majority of us. If our leaders will not make the tough but correct choices then we are in deep trouble. Many mouth the right words but few if any will lay it on the line and do the right thing.
I agree usnlit, it is very sad.

They'll cave.

RINOs are now the rule rather than exception.

At temporary fix to divert away from the real problem - fools should not be allowed to make important decisions.

We have very little that we export in comparison to our importing.  The money will continue to filter out until the kettle runs out.

Several are on "ignore".   I won't argue with the ignorant and disrespectful..

It's worse than you think ctc. There is no money in the kettle. They are intentionally funneling money to international banking cartels and corporate owned lobbyists right under the noses of our "representation." Money that is borrowed at interest. Money that these politicians have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA how we are going to pay for it.

This is madness. If we don't stand up now, this is the beginning of the end. The great American experiment is over friends. This is nothing short of a socialist takeover and transformation of the US government and free market system.

Ask yourself this guys, what if in 2016 Obama were to say - I want another term, so I'm just going to go ahead and stay. What would you do? What would be you recourse? You have no recourse anymore. What if Obama were to announce that - the governors under his authority now rightfully own their respective states and have the right to tax as they see fit to meet federal demands? Would you riot or would you go to work the next day? What could you do? If Obama ordered the national guard to fire on you in the streets, do you think they would follow orders?

In my opinion, the vast majority of people in the US have had the fire in their belly doused. They have been robbed of what it really means to be an American. The idea of standing up and spitting in the eye of a tyrant seems foolish and illogical to them. The notion that only our documents need stand vigilant, is poison.
