Fargo, North Dakota (July 22, 2009) – One would think that defeating a returning double national champion (Dylan Ness of Minnesota) in this year’s finals of USA Wrestling Junior Greco-Roman Championships would be the most memorable moment of the tournament for an athlete. For RaVaughn Perkins, that distinction belongs to putting his singlet on, one leg at a time, with colorful scrutiny.

“Winning in the finals, that was definitely special. But I could have done this last year. I had confidence in myself that I could win in the finals. I just had to get there. Last year in Cadets, I was undefeated but had to settle for fifth.”
