Around the six minute mark, never lower.  I chose 7.

I ran a 5:24 once in HS. Same year I ran an 11:30 two mile (which still gets you lapped in a race!)

My first mile of the 2 mile run was 5 min exactly - 10:30 for the 2-mile.

What if yours is faster than you have listed? I ran a 4:20 true mile(1600) not a 1500.

If you can run under 5 mins, on average, you are cruising pretty good. If you can finish your two mile in around 11 mins, you're still doing pretty good. I remember running the mile in track and running a sub 5 min mile for the first tiem as a freshman and nearly getting lapped by the state champ. That guy won the mile and two mile that year. Then to think there are people who run it in like 3:30 is crazy.

6 flat in 8th grade, can't say I've ever really "tried" since.

That's not bad for 8th grade. We had a 7th grader 2yrs ago run a 4:40 and he;s only like 5'2".

I was a sprinter, hurdler and long jumper in hi/school. Absolutly hated running more then 220 yards, yes I'm that old, we ran yards not meters back then.
But did run a 5:45 mile in the ninth grade for extra credit.

That's funny about the yards. My sons are sprinters. My oldest however runs a decent mile for a 7th grader. My middle son struggles to run more than one lap. Not because he can't, just sees no point in running that far.
