I don't follow high school wrestling too much other than the national rankings and Iowa, but Freddie Rodriguez is freakin impressive. This kid won everything there was to be won this year. State, flo nationals, junior folk nationals, junior free and greco nationals, fila cadet free and greco. He just dismantled the asics first team wrestler Silver (from Blair right?) in the freestyle finals.

Anyone have some more info on him? What year in school will he be?

Not only is he a GREAT Wrestler he is a great funny kid.. We spent time with him at Americas Cup and he was a riot. He wanted to be like all the locals so he took off his shoes and walked around barefoot and got some huge blisters(lol) and still wrestle like a champ for 2 days....

Agreed he is the real deal. He needs to grow some to make an impact on the college scene if he chooses to go that way. Or he may go the way of Cejudo

He needs to learn how to lift weights. In his interview on flo after winning flonationals he proudly claimed he doesn't lift weights. When you get up to 125 in college those kids are STRONG and have good technique. He will really struggle if he doesn't find the Holt weightroom soon.
