Highlighted fighter = who I'm cheering for. Jon Jones vs. Vladimir Matyushenko I'd bet on Jones. I like the style and abilities of Jones, but I think he is a tool. I think Vlad is a much cooler fellow than his younger opponent and wouldn't be pissed to see him win. Yushin Okami (No. 8 MW) vs. Mark Munoz I'd bet on Munoz. Jake Ellenberger vs. John Howard I'd bet on Howard. Takanori Gomi vs. Tyson Griffin Hard one to bet on. DaMarques Johnson vs. Matt Riddle No bet. I do not like Riddle though. Paul Kelly vs. Jacob Volkmann I'd bet on Volkmann. James Irvin vs. Igor Pokrajac I'd bet on Irvin. I hate Irvin. Brian Stann vs. Mike Massenzio I'd bet on Massenzio. I don't think Stann is good. Rob Kimmons vs. Steve Steinbeiss Don't care. Darren Elkins vs. Charles Oliveira Two good prospects, don't know enough about either.

I feel the need to reiterate. I do not like Jones. He is a self-righteous, cocky bastard. I'd like to see Vlad knock him cold.

I heard an interview with Jones and he seemed quite the opposite of that. Of course, it was a radio interview and he could have just been on good behavior.

I always thought Jon Jones came across as a family first confident young man that has made me a fan with his exciting performances inside of the octagon....but than again I'm sober at the moment so I may get back to this thread later.

I take back pretty much everything negative that I said of Jones. He's a classy dude.

What do you guys think about fighters "refusing" to fight guys that are their teammates?
I personally believe they are professional fighters and business is business.....not to sound to danaesque....

I only want to see guys fight each other that want to. I would hope they are all willing to for the right price/title at stake but I don't want to see two guys forced to fight each other put on a half assed grappling match because they don't want to punch each other.
Which guy gets forced to leave camp? Which guy gets the lead trainer? Who corners who? I say avoid it if at all possible but if it's 1 vs 2 in a weight class, champion and top challenger, then I guess I'd hope the natural competition comes out in the guys and the fight is made.

At the lower levels and shows I 100% agree with ya Fuhr. When you get to the upper echelon of the sport If you are on the ladder you should be ready to fight any and everybody. If two pros on the UFC level were to give less then their best because they were training partners I would ditch them.

I go to Koz vs. Fitch: Unless Koz beats GSP, Fitch beats Alves, Koz beats GSP in the immediate rematch, Fitch beats GSP, Koz beats Alves, and they both beat any other up and comer I haven't listed; Then, and only then, do I want to see 2 guys, who don't want to fight each other, fight each other.
I wish it were as easy as, professionals. Baseball players who are friends face off everyday, but they don't have to punch each other in the face. For some fighters it's not a big deal and they can put it aside, but for guys who say they will move weight classes before they fight each other (Fitch and Koz) what kind of fight would we see between them anyway?
