It's about that time again. This year the plan is to run only one fantasy league with 15 teams. The list below is the guys that have been contacted about participating in the league this season. The choices were made by looking at past participants that were able to stay up with the league all season, for the most part. I know that there are some that were in one of the two leagues least season that were interested in being in again. At this time, I do not see us running two leagues again. Running two leagues is a ton of work, and last year we ended with what could have been one league due to all the guys dropping out. Sorry if you are disappointed. Maybe next season we will go back to 2 leagues, if there are another 15 guys that are committed to staying with it.

When is the tentative start date for the draft? Lots of active legal dates to iron out...
We need to post the rules so that we may vote on potential rule changes....just sayin'....I'm not sure how I feel about scoring every single match.....need to noodle on it.

Why should people who don't pay attention to scheduling be rewarded is my only question? When people learn to draft worse wrestlers with cake schedules the league turns into something completely different.
Does being a champ give me any more weight?
-
Any more weight in what? How rule changes are voted on? No.
I am thinking the draft will start either the week of Oct 17th or 24th. Whichever one works best for everyone.

im in dude

Gage, at this point you are not in the league. You are on the stand by list, along with a number of others. But right now if Lost and Tehgratest confirm that they want to play, then the league is full. Sorry, but I could not accomodate everyone in a single league, so there were some guys that got left out. Maybe we will run 2 seperate leagues, but this year, 1 is all we will run.
-
The league is now set with all 15 guys confirmed. If you are on the list this year, sorry. We could not accomodate everyone with just one league. IF we get enough guys to have two quality leagues next season we might re-visit that option.
-
I would just like to throw my hat in the ring for the Stand-By List/or hopefully 2nd League. If we can get enough people to start a separate league that would be amazing. We've still got a decent amount of time before the draft would start to recruit participants. Plus we could pencil in all the others guys already on the Stand-By list for the 2nd League.
Akin-Do you have a rough number as to how many possible entries we may have for a 2nd League at the moment??
-
If TWT doesn't get back up and running I may be interested as well.
-
Right now, I don't know that I would be abel to deal with a 2nd league. I am starting a new job next weekl and I don't know how my time is going to be. Also, you would really need 15 dedicated guys to make the league work. If TWT is not up and running, I guess there would probably be some of the guys from there that would want in. So basically I am saying that right now, I don't know. If there are 15 guys that want in, I may be able to run a 2nd league, but I won't know the answer to that for about 2 weeks. I am not absolutely out on the idea, I just need to figure it out.
-
It seems like they have a few league commissioners over there. I'm sure the same could work here as well.
-
That is a good point Cicero. I know if something happened to TOM it would be great if another board gave us a home so we could still play.
-
Well if they want to contact me, we could talk about it.
-
if someone else wants to step up for the second league as a commish or co-commish then it wouldn't be so bad. there are dudes who have run a league before from TWT I bet.
-
That's what I am saying. I can't commit to running two leagues, so if someone wanted to help with a 2nd, I would listen. But it may be a mute point now that TWT is back up.
-
So are we looking at the 2nd or 3rd week next month for the draft?
-
Earlier the better please. I'm not going to be available Oct 20-23 and I DON"T want to hold up the draft.
-
7 schools yet to release their schedules. I think that information has to be out first.
-
Draft starting 10/24 should allow us to get it done without any issues. Any thoughts?
-
Sound good to me.....willl we have any type of specified timeframe for making picks before an individual is passed over?
When you received confirmation from everyone playing did you get updated contact info?
-
I don't have everyone's contact info. It would be nice to have a good email and cell# to be able to contact people. It could be PM'd to me to assure the security of the info.
On the time frame for picks, what does everyone think?
-
Once you are AWARE it is your pick I think 10 minutes should be adequate .
-
Once you are AWARE it is your pick I think 10 minutes should be adequate .
Woah, that seems really fast. Don't think it was near that fast last year.
-

That is pure insanity.
Who is going to be able to judge when someone is aware? Just because a person is made aware doesn't make them aware.
3 hours is fair considering we have so much time. Obviously if you can pick faster do it, but some(most) of us work during the day and have responsibilities in the evening. Therefore, people won't be able to get on here and post the picks right away.
-
I didn't want to get into defining ''aware time''-once you log on and announce you are ready to pick-how long could that take ?
-
if you know you're not going to be able to pick you can always name a proxy...I did a few times last year. three hours is fine, but if it's that long why not four hours. the worst case scenario is you have three guys in a row get jumped and it takes 12 hours.
-
Last year one draft took an amazing 3 days and the other 5 days which were both much faster than in 2009 when it was a full week. While there needs to be some kind of upper limit, lets keep in mind that this is a relatively quick amount of time to do a 15 round draft with people all over the country. No need to make it too short. I would say 4 hours is probably pretty fair. But can we keep the freaking out about someone not making their pick within 30 minutes of the last pick to a minimum.

+1
-
I don't think anyone logged on, said they were ready to post, and then proceeded to take an hour to pick.
What holds you up is when people aren't right by a computer. That's no big deal, and thats why we are drafting when we are and we will have plenty of time to complete it as long as everyone does their best to check the boards frequently.
-
This is all I am saying . Once you are ready and it is your pick taking up to 4 hours is silly . Once you see it is your pick-post your pick -if i remember correctly AKIN did a great job keeping the draft updated last year .If you see your guy is no longer available post one or two names and then come back if you must-
-
I agree herb.

Here is the draft spreadsheet we will use for this season. I will do my best to keep it updated through the draft, but my work schedule will be different this year, so I can not promise it will be as quick as last year. Drooke and V will have editing rights on the sheet, as well. So hopefully between the three of us it can be updated well through the draft.

would it help if each player posted his own picks ?
