Off-Topic / Re: Miami Condo Collapse

Another reason for the collapse may have been the recent construction of another high rise too close to it.

I don't know about climate change, but critical theory teaches us that racism may have played a factor.

College / Re: Who is on the Mt Rushmore for your state?

Ohio has to have, at least, two Mt. Rushmores.
Pre-1980:
Bobby Douglass
Lee Kemp
Tom Milkovich
Pat Milkovich

Post 1980:
Dustin Schlatter
David Taylor
Logan Stieber
Jim Jordan (beating out Randleman, Mollica, and Fried)

This is all arguable, of course.

Are gays smelly too?

A comment made by Peter Strzok comes to mind right now, but my better sense is telling me not to go there.

Off-Topic / Re: The humble orange
« on: July 31, 2019, 09:41:22 PM »
Oranges were my fruit of choice back in high school and college. Along the way, the taste of the oranges I so loved seemed to change. Later (maybe 15-20 years ago) I attempted to do some research and wondered if changes in harvesting procedures changed the taste. The idea of growers was to maximize harvest by changing the times of the year for different harvesting events.

It might be just me. I do still drink OJ, but no longer buy (seedless) oranges which I would, at the time, cut into 6 parts, peel off the skin, and melt the interiors into my mouth.

Not that I've noticed, but I haven't really looked. Is that your ambition?

I tend to look for airplane emergency stories and old Benny Hill clips.
An interest in mind reading isn't what attracted me to "The Listener" story lines.

Three other programs are being shown in binge-watching clumps on ION Plus---"Saving Hope", "Rookie Blue", and "White Collar". I've seen White Collar programmed on at least one other channel previously and it is pretty good. I'm not into the other two.

"You might want to check them out. Some of them will teach you how you can become a mind reader yourself, if you have any desire to do that."

Gawd, no.

Are there any instructive YouTube videos on how to write creative, touching story lines?

Off-Topic / The Listener tops the Mentalist.

I enjoyed a TV program called the Mentalist (a face reader) for a while. But on a channel called ION Plus I've been watching a program called "The Listener" (a mind reader). It's really really good. I'm not sure how long it will be airing because it's programmed to be binge watched on Mondays and Tuesdays. Thus I've seen all of the episode already with only continuous repeats in the offing. Anyone else see it?

The privileged rich.

Every team is bound to win a game at some point.

So you say. It's still 35 straight NFL Sundays without a win. 1-15 followed by 0-16 and now 1-1-1. At least Browns fans aren't talking the Hall of Fame for Baker Mayfield yet.
But there was plenty of postgame predictions about playoffs THIS year and Mayfield being the offensive rookie of the year.

The Cleveland Browns have won a football game. Baker Mayfield magic.
