College / Best NCAA finals matches?
« on: February 08, 2015, 02:22:09 PM »
The other site's front page has a poll of the best NCAA finals match but they only list 8 match ups and quite frankly the list sucks.  It was an arbitrary list of course and not sure the criteria, so lets come up with our own best matches and maybe some criteria for our choices.  A couple of my favorites are Rob Rohn for comeback pin after being down by double digits.  Also Mitch Clark's first period tech fall.  Oh Dan Gable vs Larry Owings was not on their list which surprised me.

High School & Lower / colorado high school individual rankings
« on: February 02, 2015, 05:24:38 PM »
I tried to find the latest rankings for individuals but I keep being referred to TIm Yount's pay site.  Now I am glad someone provides that service, but I wish the local paper would or the high school association would just provide it.  Local high school coverage on the Denver Post is sporadic at best.

International / fila hall of fame inductee information incorrect
« on: August 22, 2014, 12:02:46 PM »
The fila hall of fame page states that Rasoul Khadem of Iran was a 1992 Olympic Gold Medalist in freestyle which is incorrect.  He won the Bronze.  Kevin Jackson won in 1992.

Not really, just yanking everyone's chain.  I actually enjoy the quiet.

Other Sports / Olympic Swimmer Amy Van Dyken

I live in Colorado and she is pretty much a home town hero and the news has regular updates on her rehabilitation from a nasty ATV crash.  What amazes me most is how she is maintaining such a positive attitude and how she accommodating she is to the press.  She could have told everyone to pound sand and the press would have no choice but to oblige.

College / Garrett non takedown....
« on: March 23, 2014, 03:36:30 PM »
In the opening seconds does anyone else think that could have been called a takedown?  It looked to me that Garret had control albeit very momentarily.  I have no bias, it just looked really damn close.
