Pretty good movie 7.5/10

No lulls, it has it's funny moments and not a mushy family movie. I recommend giving it a whirl.

Here is a tour of the brickwork we did in anchorage.

It is not the greatest video but I tried to get most of the detail work in the shot. Enjoy!

Mixed Martial Arts / tough night for the 253
« on: November 20, 2011, 10:53:20 PM »
I saw rick story lost. We went 0-3 in sequim last night.

Our first match was a Cody Anderson at heavyweight. He fought a decent sized guy from moses lake. The dude rushed him w/ big punches, cody threw a few and grabbed his head and tried to control it for a choke. The guy adjusted and kept moving so cody tried to bounce his head but could not. The guy got free and started throwing bombs again. Cody panicked and dropped his hands and got a big one to the face and dropped. KO'd first round.

Austin was our 2nd fight @155 against a kid named harvey park. The first round Harvey hit him with a bunch of kicks and tried to take austin down but austin hung in there and got the takedown after taking a pounding and through a bunch of punches on the ground but lost the first round pretty decisevely. He woke up in the second round and picked up his boxing and really put a hurting on him. He got a takedown on him and dropped a lot of leather as the kid just tried submissions on him. Harvey had a few different arm bars on him but austin dropped a ton of punches on him. In the third round it was mostly all on the ground with austin pounding and harvey trying arm bars. he had austin in a few really good subs but could not finish him. Austin showed a lot of heart. The judges scored it 30-28 on all three cards giving a 10-10 second round which i thought was weak b/c austin definately was the clear winner of that round and the third was pretty close.

The 3rd and final fighter was Roy Chambers @ 205 vs. ried hazelbaker. The first exchange of the fight ried hit roy with a hook and put him out on his feet but roy grabbed a double leg and brought it to the ground. He laid a vicous ground and pound for the rest of the round landing a ton of shots to his body and some mean hammer fists to the the face. I think he may have actually won the round but if not he was looking like he might finish the fight. In the second they pretty much decided to meet in the middle and throw as hard as they can with no regards to ducking or defensive tactics. Roy looked really good and had him in trouble and he shot a really good looking double but stopped at the hips and kind of slowly went to the mat. Reid went all out trying to get a sub as roy went back to dropping leather on him. but eventually roy got out of position and was caught in a triangle choke, he got out of it but left his arm exposed and ried snatched it up in an arm bar and roy tapped.

They fought pretty hard and went against some really tough fighters. I watched Austin's guy fight a few tiems now and each time it was a first round finish the guy and his corner came up to us afterwards and thanked us for giving him such a good fight. With Roy he fought a guy with 7 or 8 fights under his belt in his very first fight and put him on the ropes, I am very proud of him. And cody learned the toughest lesson "Protect Yourself at all times". They went out there and banged hard though especially for their first fights and only two months of training.
