Fishermen Find $1.5m Worth of 'Whale Vomit

https://www.newsweek.com/fishermen-1-5m-whale-vomit-lifted-out-poverty-yemen-1596801

35 men from Yemen found the carcass of a sperm whale floating in the sea, which turned out to contain more than $1.5 million worth of rare and valuable ambergris, Ambergris is a strange, waxy substance with an almost rock-like appearance—sometimes referred to as "whale vomit"—that is produced in the intestines of sperm whales.

Ambergris has also been highly valued by perfumers as the substance helps scents last longer.

Now who the heck had an inkling of an idea that whale puke could make perfume scents last longer.

"Hey Marcel, lets try mixing in some of this whale puke and see if the scent lasts longer."

Mixed Martial Arts / What ? I don't know.
« on: April 02, 2021, 08:51:04 AM »
MMA is more brutal than you thought.

Khetag Pliev, an Olympic wrestler for Canada in 2012, was taking on Devin Goodale and while Pliev was being attended to between the second and third rounds, his corner noticed something was off.

His finger.

Pliev discovered his right ring finger was not where he left it.

"I can’t remember anything, I don’t know, "I got hit by something big, I don’t remember what happened. I’m just being honest."

"His finger was just gone. It's gone. It fell off, ripped off."

An announcement was made over the PA system asking those at the venue to be on the lookout for the finger.

Pliev’s finger was found in his glove. He was taken to the hospital and had it reattached.

It was a ring finger, not the pinky or thumb which being outer joints would be more susceptible.  The ring finger is buried in the middle of the fist.

We there, the COVID blackout period.  Get the virus now and you are out of the conference tournament qualifier, unable to to take an injury default and still qualify for NCAAs. For the B1G and their 17 day mandate of no participation for infections, the black out started over a week ago.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/animal-news/scientists-clone-first-u-s-endangered-species-n1258310

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Scientists have cloned the first U.S. endangered species, a black-footed ferret duplicated from the genes of an animal that died over 30 years ago.

Elizabeth Ann was born and is being raised at a Fish and Wildlife Service black-footed ferret breeding facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. She’s a genetic copy of a ferret named Willa who died in 1988 and whose remains were frozen in the early days of DNA technology.

I can't but think that in bowels of Russia or China there are other cloned mammals and I'm not thinking about the woolly mammoth.

He signed a buckeroo of a deal with Tampa Bay.

$25,000,000 a year for 2 years - guaranteed
+ $500,000 for making the playoffs
+ $250,000 more for winning a playoff game,
+ another $500,000 for making the NFC Championship
+ another $500,000 for winning the NFC title game.

So far his post season paycheck is $1,750,000.

If Tampa Bay wins the SB, the Bucs get to drop another $500,000 into his bank account - total $2,250,000 and a 7th SB ring.

The guy is in his 21st year, and now his11th Super Bowl.

Trivia - Bellechick has 8 SB rings 6 with the Pats, 2 with the Giants.
Willie Davis, Green Bay has 7 rings, 4 SB rings and 3 NFL championship from the pre-SB era.
