Varner vs. Brester
« on: February 21, 2010, 05:11:03 PM »
The gap seems to be closing.  Varner one 6-4 in OT, and Brester got a TD earlier in the match.

Brester is gonna win a title this year, I've been calling it for a while.  He is too good to lose to Varner THAT many times

I duno I think he has a chance of taking another big 12 title from Varner and if he does that it might be the best thing for Varner in the long run.  It might take some pressure off of him by beating a beast like Brester so many times in a row and just focus on winning his second title.

Not gonna happen. Varner will step up to the plate when the time comes.

It was a really good match to watch, what a #1 vs. #2 match should be like.  Brester just didn't have the gas tank to match Varner in OT, who got the takedown with about 2 seconds left on the clock in SV.  Brester had 59 seconds of riding time by the way.  One second away from winning in regulation.

Brester physically dominated for 2 1/2 periods before he tired.

197 is a very exciting weight, don't forget Hudson Taylor, he lost to Varner by 1 point and he usually wrestles twice as good in the national tournament then he does in the regular season.

well his sophomore year I believe he lost to Davis by 3-5 points and that sent him to the consis. His junior year he got pinned in a Japanese whizzer in the 1st round. Anything can happen with him I hope he wins it all but I doubt he will
