So I understand clearly, Coach, you believe that physically our bodies don't go to heaven, but our souls do.

Correct on that one.

Quote from: "AnthonyMarston"
And adding to that, once in Heaven, one will not have recollection of any of their lives or who they were while they were on Earth.

No it is a lot more complicated than that.  I believe we become part of a collective and no longer have our individual characteristics, but join our consciousness with that of others.  It is rather complicated but I do not feel we exist beyond this lives as completely seperate individuals.

I agree with you on the first one, too.  The second thought I guess I can't be sure completely either way.  Since God created us as individuals ( not one single person is alike on the planet, amazing ), I am guessing to the supreme being we might not be lumped together as a group.  Maybe?  Also, we are each held accountable ( aren't we? ) for our individual actions so that leads me to believe we might be individuals ( as souls ) in Heaven, also.  BUT in Heaven, there is perfection and one doesn't worry about sin there, I think.

You are free to believe as you wish AM.  I do not believe in the continued existence of an individual consciousness, haven't for over 29 years now.

I answered 3 although I do believe that part of each of us continues to live forever.  The reason being, I do not believe it is constrained by the personality and memories of the physical body and the majority of those that answer yes on this poll would mean that very narrow and certainly wrong position that they survive as the unique individual here on Earth.
WTF???????

WHO has espoused THAT theory???

I swear Sparkles...  you get more and more delusional daily.

Not delusional at all Tight_a$$.  Nobody but nobody knows for sure what happens after death and anyone who thinks they do are the ones who happen to be delusional.
NO Sparkles! The question was merely afterlife? yes, no, etc.

I asked you to provide justification for that obviously delusional assertion that "that they survive as the unique individual here". And you CANT. Can you!

You truly are ignorant tight_a$$, only surpassed by the crazy texas coach himself.  There is nothing delusional at all about believing that when we pass from our bodies we join as a collective consciousness or soul, it is simply my unique conjecture about what happens after death, which nobody can prove of disprove.  The delusional ones are the ones that think they can.  Ahem, like yourself stupid.

this.

If corpses can't be raised, then Christ wasn't, because he was indeed dead. And if Christ weren't raised, then all you're doing is wandering about in the dark, as lost as ever. It's even worse for those who died hoping in Christ and resurrection, because they're already in their graves. If all we get out of Christ is a little inspiration for a few short years, we're a pretty sorry lot. But the truth is that Christ has been raised up, the first in a long legacy of those who are going to leave the cemeteries.

Anthony and cougar1 have both indicated that they believe they continue to survive as the unique individual that they are here on Earth dumbphuck.  I would be willing to bet that you believe that too but are too ignorant to even understand what you are even saying.

I'd have to have a better explanation of Sparky's definition of "unique individual" before I jump on the band wagon. It would be nice, however, if the conversation could continue without insulting comments.

FWIW, if the views of most of the Christians on this particular board is what is to be expected in heaven, and those people are the "chosen ones", then going to heaven, or going to hell, wouldn't make any difference to me..... they would both be a different version of hell. And while the latter version might be more uncomfortable, at least the company would be better.

I voted no simply because we have zero evidence that an afterlife exist, at least the ones being suggested.  There might be something, but we have yet to see any proof of it.

It is simple cougar, I mean a person who knows and recognizes him or herself as say Bob Hoffman from the planet Earth who lived from 1959 to whenever, married Michele Hoffman, had two kids named Eric and Alec, remember how it fall in love, marry, have your children born and on and on and on.

I agree, it would be nice if Tight_a$$ would stop the insulting comments.  Remember he started it.
