Can anyone comfirm this?  Mudflap said it about a month ago, and now its rumored to be true.  Any insiders know?

Personally I'd love to see him there for the big tens if his weights high enough.

Sounds like a done deal, its on the IA boards as well, and IMO a smart move.

He'd probably lose his first match to Poeta (assuming he is seeded last) then hopefully win a few in the wrestlebacks,

I was kinda thinking the same thing, i think anywhere from 4th thru 6th is a pretty reasonable predication. My personal predication would be 4th as he's just getting used to the weight, but then for him to step it up a little come NCAA's

Without having wrestled a single match above 141 to this point, I'd be very surprised if he wins a match.  He is obviously very talented, but thats asking a lot.  Because I owe him one, I'll throw this out for Brycemus, if Slaton places 6th or better at 157 in the Big 10 tournament, he can have my sig for 2 weeks.

Why is everyone so excited to see Slaton at 157? Couldn't get enough of him running off the mat, crying like a little bitch?

I'm sure Tommy wouldn't put him in at that weight if he thught he had a better option. It was apparent early on that Slaton couldn't hold his weight. It's a pretty shrewd move.

Holy cow, you mean Slaton who was at 133? That’s kind of a big jump for college aye? Well good luck to the guy, I hope it works for him. But seriously is he that big? No wonder he was having trouble making 133.

I don't actually think this is a bad move for the Hawkeyes.  It gives them as legit a shot as having Ballweg at the weight.  And possibly even a better shot than that.

And I will TAKE that sig Oakie

This was something Brands & Co. were toying with late last week and early this week.  Looks like it ain't happening.  Expect Ballweg at '57 for the Hawks.
