Chromosomes
« on: November 12, 2011, 12:57:45 AM »
I always wondered how did creatures evolve into species with different chromosomes?  When humans have extra chromosomes they are mentally disabled. Unfortanetly in high school I blew off my biology class and now im trying to catch up on the subject of evolution. I will appreciate the explanation of this thanks.

You may have blown off biology, but you have asked an intelligent question.  However, you will not receive an answer that is both short and complete.  You can look here for a couple of brief but incomplete answers.  If you are really ambitious, take a look at this for a more detailed description of one particular kind of chromosome evolution.  It includes many references you can check out.

It is not even slightly possible that there is a reasonable rational article of any kind on a site named creation.com.  If you want to hear braindead lies that might be the place to go, but if you want to hear valid science look for someplace with edu or org and science in the name and absolutely no mention of creation.
